After much anticipation, iOS 15.4 is finally being rolled out to supported iPhones. With this new update, users in the EU will be able to add an EU Digital COVID Certificate to the Health and Wallet apps by opening the Camera App. They will proceed and scan the certificate’s QR code, tapping on the yellow Health app notification that will pop out. After tapping the “Add to Wallet & Health” button, the vaccine certificate will be there. Inside of the Wallet App, the Vaccine cards will show the person’s name, the type of vaccine they have received, the date that each dose was administered, the issuer, and a digitally signed QR code. More detailed immunization records will also be available through the Health app.
Worth noting, that the feature has been partially available since the latest iOS 15.4 beta. According to MacStories editor-in-chief Federico Vitcci, he was able to add his Italian vaccination record to the Health app, but not the Wallet app. Apple’s release notes indicate that the EU Digital COVID Certificates issued by Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Cape Verde, North Macedonia, and Palestine also currently can’t be verified or added to the Wallet app on the iOS 15.4 beta. We have to wait a couple of days to uncover how many countries have support in the full-fledged iOS 15.4.
