Oppo and OnePlus announced a merger a few months ago. In fact, OnePlus is now officially a sub-brand of Oppo. Initially, the merger meant the unification of software developers into one team. Now there is no doubt that hardware solutions will also be created by a single group of people.
The merger will lead to an expansion of the OnePlus lineup, where more mid-range devices should appear, and a unified firmware will replace the original shell, which will take a lot from ColorOS and may change the naming to H2OOS. Reflecting the brand’s new development strategy was the abandonment of the release of OnePlus 9T and the early release of OnePlus 10 Pro.
It turns out that the base OnePlus 10 flagship will not debut this year, and the company may bring the OnePlus 10 Ultra to the market, which will take on the title of the super flagship. The emergence of new brands, where the name is tied to numbers, can also be counted among the transformations: Two Plus, Six Plus and Eight Plus. For some reason known to it, the company ignored the odd numbers, and bet only on the even ones.
It is not clear for which product lines the company has registered the new TwoPlus, SixPlus and EightPlus names. Whether it will be smartphones or some other smart gadgets, there is no information.
