POCO M4 Pro 5G will reach India soon

Several months have passed since the announcement of the POCO M4 Pro 5G. The affordable mid-range was revealed for global markets but left Xiaomi’s Indian stronghold out of the party. Now, it seems that POCO India is finally ready to deploy this affordable 5G handset to its fans in India. The company started its usual teaser campaign through its Twitter handle. For now, there is no official date, but we can expect the handset to hit the country pretty soon.

The company published short video teasers and one of them shows a device that is equal to the POCO M4 Pro 5G. The device has five camera cutouts, although there will be only two sensors. The handset has a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KJN1 camera and an 8 MP ultrawide camera. The device also seems to pack a centered punch-hole for the selfie snapper. Thanks to the global variant, we already know that it’s a 16 MP selfie snapper taking care of video calls.

POCO M4 Pro 5G specifications and features

Under the hood, the POCO M4 Pro 5G packs a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. That’s a major change in the class of affordable 5G smartphones. After all, we’re still seeing a myriad of smartphones with the Dimensity 700. The Dimensity 810 brings a decent upgrade when compared to the Dimensity 700 inside of the Poco M3 Pro 5G. It packs 2 ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.4 GHz plus 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. The device has up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of Internal Storage. Of course, the Indian market can also get the variant with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage which will be much cheaper. The device also counts with a micro SD card slot for further memory expansion.

The handset flaunts a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate and a Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has the already mentioned center-punch-hole design and the bottom bezel is thicker than the side and top ones. The company has equipped the device with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC (depending on the region), Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1. It also has stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The POCO M4 Pro 5G draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging.

For now, the exact pricing point that POCO will adopt remains a mystery. However, we expect it to be one of the cheapest 5G smartphones in the country. The chipset – Dimensity 810 – will also put it slightly ahead of the other low-end 5G phones offered in India.
