OnePlus and Oppo have embarked on a merger and are moving steadily towards it. We started with the unification of development teams and the proprietary ColorOS and OxygenOS shells onto one codebase. And last year, the company even announced the onset of a new era “OnePlus 2.0 ”, which will bring new approaches and new products.
OnePlus to release OxygenOS 13
As part of the development of the new brand, OnePlus announced the creation of a “unified operating system”. At the same time, it was announced that the new firmware will debut in the 2022 flagship. The trademark for it has already been registered: H2OOS. There have been specul1ations that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be the pioneer, but we already know that the flagship will come to the global market with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12.
From here, there was talk that, perhaps, OnePlus 10 Ultra will become the first-born with a unified operating system. But it seems that work on the new firmware has stalled and the company will postpone its release date. It continues to work on the development of OxygenOS and posted an announcement on one of its forums that developers and fans will hold a joint meeting dedicated to discussing OxygenOS 13. The event itself will take place on February 28 and everyone can apply for participation until February 18 by clicking on this link.
Gizchina News of the week
It looks like the company isn’t ready to say goodbye to OxygenOS. At least for the foreseeable future. Has it abandoned the idea of creating a unified OS? Unlikely. Most likely, its creation took more time than previously thought. It remains to wait for the official comment from OnePlus in order to understand the true picture of what is happening and the company’s plans to release a unified software platform.
OnePlus 10 Ultra with Hasselblad 2.0 camera and periscope module with 5x optical zoom poses for quality renders
Some sources have recently published high-quality images of the OnePlus 10 Ultra smartphone. It is expected to be released in March and will become the main competitor of Xiaomi 12 Ultra. OnePlus 10 Ultra will be based on the OnePlus 10 Pro, and the main innovation will be concentrated in the main camera unit: it will have a periscope module with 5x optical zoom and optical stabilization. In comparison, the OnePlus 10 Pro uses a regular telephoto lens; with a focal length of 77mm, which provides a 3.3x zoom. The other two modules will be the same as the OnePlus 10 Pro, with 48MP and 50MP sensors.
Another camera innovation on the OnePlus 10 Ultra could be the MariSilicon NPU; which will debut in the Oppo Find X5 Pro. Hasselblad specialists also working the camera of this model; so the use of MariSilicon in the Hasselblad 2.0 OnePlus 10 Ultra camera is quite likely.
