Samsung is the undisputed leader in the foldable smartphone market, occupying a dominant position on it. The Galaxy Fold has been an inspiration to many manufacturers, and we’ve seen several of its counterparts already. Naturally, the company will continue to develop this segment. Now, we can evaluate the concept of Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 will inherit the design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra
The design is not surprising and the first thing the eye stumbles on is the main camera block, which resembles the design of the rear camera of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Another fundamental difference from its predecessor is the appearance of a storage compartment for the stylus. This is another confirmation that the company abandoned the development of the Galaxy Note series, offering support for an electronic pen in other top-end devices from the company.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is rumored to once again offer two displays, one of which is a flexible 7.56-inch diagonal. On the outside, a 6.19-inch AMOLED screen will be installed. The smartphone should offer a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of permanent memory, fast charging technology with a capacity of at least 45 watts.

Rumors: the next Samsung foldable will receive a stylus compartment
Last week, Samsung introduced a new family of flagship smartphones Galaxy S22. The older model of the series, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, received an S Pen stylus compartment, like the smartphones of the deceased Galaxy Note series. Now there are rumors that a separate stylus compartment will appear in the next smartphone of the Galaxy Z Fold series.
The Korean edition of TheElec, citing anonymous sources; reports that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will have a slot for the S Pen stylus. It is worth noting that support for an active stylus is also present in last year’s Galaxy Z Fold3; but there is no special pen compartment in the smartphone. Sources also say that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will feature a 7.56-inch foldable screen and an optional 6.19-inch external display.
It is also reported that Samsung will pay special attention to the durability of the new model. The Galaxy Z Fold3 already offers users IPX8 water resistance and a more durable foldable display than previous generations; so it will be interesting to see how the company intends to improve this year. Probably, the smartphone will receive dust protection and an even more durable folding screen.
The Elec also reports that the Galaxy Z Flip4 clamshell will inherit a 6.7-inch foldable screen from the current model; but claims the outer display will be slightly larger. It is expected that its diagonal will grow from 1.83 to 1.9 inches.
