Back in the last month, Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G handset in global markets. This particular variant is touted to reach China soon as Redmi Note 11E Pro 5G. If you recall, there are Redmi Note 11 series smartphones in China, but they’re slightly different from the global variants. The device may also get refreshment in design or specs to come as Poco X4 Pro for certain markets. That’s right, the POCO X4 Pro might be a disappointment for those who have been waiting for a Snapdragon 870-powered smartphone. According to the latest report from Xiaomiui, the upcoming POCO X4 Pro will be a rebranded Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, however, it will come with a 64 MP camera. Apparently, POCO is resuming its strategy of being just a brand of “rebranded” smartphones, to the disappointment of its fans.
POCO X4 Pro is mostly a downgrade for POCO X3 Pro owners
According to the report, the POCO X4 Pro will come with a Samsung ISOCELL G3 sensor. Moreover, it will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. The camera may be an upgrade over the POCO X3 Pro’s 48 MP snapper, but the performance is a big step down when compared to the Snapdragon 860 SoC. The Snapdragon 860 is a tweaked Snapdragon 855+ but is still better than the Snapdragon 695 which has a weaker Adreno 619 GPU. Early reports have been suggesting a Snapdragon 870 SoC on the POCO X4 Pro. Honestly, that would be the most reasonable choice, but unfortunately, the device will be a downgrade over its predecessor. The battery will have a 5,000 mAh capacity, and charges get a bump to 67 W. The device will run Android 11-based MIUI 13 just like the recently announced Redmi Note 11 series.
