There is a lot of expectation from Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, Galaxy S22 Ultra. This latest flagship series comes with some decent features. However, its performance in some areas is very disappointing. Yesterday, DxOMark released the camera evaluation score of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos). This smartphone scores 131 points ranking 13th. It trails behind two years old smartphones like the Huawei P40 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. Many 2020 flagships have better cameras than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. On DxOMark, the photo score is 134 points while the video score is 114 points.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
The new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos) is a phone full of accolades. Samsung also says the Exynos 2200 is its fastest chip ever, and the 6.8-inch screen is its brightest display yet. Furthermore, the Samsung S22 Ultra is also the first S-series model with a built-in S-Pen, a feature previously exclusive to the Note series.
In the camera array, the main module is a 108-megapixel sensor that combines nine pixels into one in low light, resulting in a very large 2.4μm pixel size. There’s also a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and two dedicated telephoto cameras. The task of mid-range telephoto is taken up by a 3x lens with 10-megapixel resolution. For more extreme long-range magnifications, it comes with a 10x periscope-style module. Also, the main camera also features an ultra-low-reflection nano-coating designed to reduce lens flare.
In video mode, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is capable of recording 8K footage at 24 frames per second. It can also record 4K resolution files at up to 60 frames per second.
