Preliminary information about the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones has been released by 9to5Google. We expect Google to announce these smartphones this fall.
Google Pixel 7 series
Mentions of the upcoming new products were found in the code of the Android 13 Developer Preview operating system. The Pixel 7 device appears under the code name Cheetah, while the Pixel 7 Pro has the code name Panther.
According to preliminary data, the second-generation Google Tensor proprietary platform will form the basis of smartphones. We are talking about a processor with the GS201 model number. In addition, there is talk about the use of a Samsung Exynos 5300 cellular modem, the characteristics of which have not yet been disclosed.
The devices will replace the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models, which debuted last October. These devices carry a Google Tensor GS101 chip and an Exynos 5123 modem.
Apparently, the presentation of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will also take place in October. Probably, in the coming months, technical details of smartphones will be published.

Possible characteristics of Google Pixel 6a
Over the past few weeks, there was evidence that the relatively inexpensive Google Pixel 6a smartphone could be released in the second quarter of this year (tentatively in May), and now a detailed list of its possible characteristics has been published. If the data is confirmed, then at a price lower than that of the Pixel 6, the smartphone will become a hit.
The Pixel 6a uses the same Tensor SoC as the Pixel 6. The smartphone will retain the Pixel 6’s design with the signature horizontal camera block, but will be smaller by using a 6.2-inch OLED screen instead of the Pixel 6’s 6.4-inch. But at the same time, the battery capacity will be even larger – 4800 mAh versus 4614 mAh for Pixel 6. Pixel 6a is credited with supporting 30W charging. The amount of RAM will be 6-8 GB, flash memory – 128 GB.
The front camera of the smartphone will be 8-megapixel, the main one will use 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 and IMX386 sensors. The thickness of the case will be 8.7 mm, and the OS, of course, will be Android 12.
Usually there is a big Google I/O event in May, and it is highly likely that the Pixel 6A will be presented there. The insider says nothing more about the device; but the Pixel 6A has already appeared on the Web in renders showing its visual resemblance to the Pixel 6. At the same time, the smartphone, apparently, will lose the standard headphone jack – for the first time in the A line.
