If nothing accidental happens, Apple will announce the iPhone 14 in September. This also means that the company should finalize working on it and enter the production phase. According to various supply chain sources, the Cupertino-based company has already finalized the design work and the foundry has started trial production.
Usually in mid-to-late February every year, Apple issues a trial production order for new mobile phone products to the foundry. Simply put, the company introduces the new product plan for the year to the foundry. Afterward, the foundry prepares a bill of materials (BOM) to establish appropriate production and to test machines. At the same time, the foundry jointly with Apple establishes a quality monitoring process and requirements.
New Display Design
Prior to this, we reported that the iPhone 14 Pro series will adopt a pill-shaped centered punch-hole design. This means that the new iPhone will have a higher screen ratio. For Apple fans, this should sound attractive. But the truth is that the Android camp models have been using such a design for a while. We just can remind you about the Redmi K30, which was released back in 2019.

iPhone 14 Memory And Storage Upgrades
Anyway, this year’s iPhone 14 will not only pay attention to the design improvement but also hardware. For instance, besides removing bangs, the company will also upgrade some key hardware specs. The maximum storage capacity ought to reach 2TB and it will use QLC.
Though cloud technologies and storage services are very popular nowadays, there are still many users who like keeping their files on the local storage. That’s why Apple has decided to increase the storage capacity of the iPhone 14 to meet the needs of users from this category. Other than that, the current phones are capable of shooting high-res videos. And latter occupies more space than the models launched earlier. Another reason that drove Apple to make such a decision is related to the system updates. As you know, now, manufacturers push more updates and also they are large in size. To proceed, they require huge storage spaces.
As for the new technology, we assume there will be concerns about upgrading QLC flash memory. As you should know the QLC performance and reliability are not as good as TLC flash storage.
Lastly, Apple will put 8GB of memory inside the iPhone for the first time in its history.
All the aforementioned factors prove that memory improvements will be among the key upgrades of the upcoming iPhone 14. But we think there will be more eye-catching changes as well.
