Redmi will hold a new product launch conference next Thursday and officially launch the Redmi K50 series flagship mobile phones. The entire series has four models including the Redmi K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro+, and the Redmi K50 e-sports version. However, the Redmi K50 e-sports version is already official and it uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. For the remaining three models that we are expecting, they will use three different processors. There are reports that these devices will come with Snapdragon 870, Dimensity 8100, and Dimensity 9000 flagship processors.
Since the Dimensity 8100 SoC beats the Snapdragon 870 and even the Snapdragon 888 SoCs, this chip will likely be in the Redmi K50 Pro. The high-end Redmi K50 Pro+ will use the Dimensity 9000 while the standard Redmi K50 will use the Snapdragon 870 SoC.
This is also the world premiere of the Dimensity 8100 and the world’s second flagship of the Dimensity 9000. Judging from some of the available information, the performance and power consumption of these two chips are very good. In fact, we are already looking forward to the performance of these devices.
Gizchina News of the week
Dimensity 9000 crushes Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
However, a few hours ago, popular Weibo tech blogger, @DCS, released a screenshot of the running scores of the Redmi K50 series. The GeenBench 5 running score shows that even with performance mode off, the Dimensity 8100 is still top-notch.
The Dimensity 9000 ran a very terrifying score, with a single-core score of 1310 and a multi-core score of 4493. In comparison with the GeekBench 5 running score of the Redmi K50 e-sports version, this chip performs well. Recall that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 single-core score is 1240 while the multi-core score was 3645. This shows that the Dimensity 9000 beats the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on all grounds.
At present, the Dimensity 9000 is slightly stronger than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on the single-core CPU. However, it completely beats the SD8 Gen 1 on the multi-core tests. This makes the Dimensity 9000 the strongest Android flagship processor.
It is also worth mentioning that the Redmi K50 Pro+ which will be equipped with Dimensity 9000, will not only perform very strongly this time but will also bring good peripheral configurations, the most important of which is the 2K screen. There was some news before that the Redmi K50 Pro+ will use a center single punch-hole screen solution, with a flexible straight screen, and a 2K-level refresh rate. This will bring ultra-high screen quality and it will also be the first in the history of the Redmi brand to use a 2K screen.
