A couple of days after the global launch, the Samsung Galaxy A53 is now reaching India. Samsung has been striving to become a dominant brand in the Indian market. In fact, it has been fighting constantly against Xiaomi for the market’s top position. The Galaxy A-series revolutionized the brand in the mid-range department, leaving the past of Galaxy Primes behind. The Galaxy A53 comes with the hard task to become’s Samsung best-selling smartphone for 2022. Every year, one Galaxy A5x gets the top position, and the Galaxy A53 now needs to overcome its predecessors the Galaxy A52 and A52s.
The Galaxy A53 is now up for pre-orders in India. However, the open sales and shipments will start by March 25. The baseline variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage will sell for INR 34,999 ($459). The model with 8 GB / 128 GB of storage will go for INR 35,999 ($472). Worth noting that potential buyers get an INR 3,000 cashback on ICICI bank credit cards and an additional INR 2,000 via the Samsung Shop App.
Gizchina News of the week
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A53 flaunts a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Worth noting that this is a punch-holed display, or what Samsung calls “Infinity-O” display. Furthermore, it packs an in-display fingerprint scanner, though it’s an optical unit.
The phone also gets a 64 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization. It’s joined by a 12 MP ultrawide module and two 5 MP units for macro shots and depth data. If we analyze the entire mid-range department, Samsung is one of the most generous when it comes to the resolution of its macro and depth sensors. Usually, we have the 2 MP + 2 MP combo. Thankfully, the Galaxy A53 is trying to differentiate the things, even though, not everyone will be using these sensors for a long time. For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy A53 5G packs a 32 MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood, the phone draws its powers from the Exynos 1280 SoC. It comes in variants with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB or 256 GB of Storage. Note that the max storage version does not seem to be available in India. The phone draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging. The phones come in Light Blue, Awesome Black, White, and Orange Colors.
Samsung also unveiled a bunch of other smartphones in the last week. The list includes the Galaxy A73 and A33. The three smartphones (three with the A53) will get four years of OS updates. This is miles beyond what the competition offers.
No earfone jack. I can rather stay without one of useless micro cameras.
