Since the official release of the Xiaomi 12 series, these smartphones have been making their way into multiple markets. Recall that the Xiaomi 12 was released last year. However, the flagship series has three models including Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X. On March 15, the company officially release these smartphones outside China. After its first launch outside China, the Xiaomi 12 series has launched in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. Other countries that have the Xiaomi 12 series include Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines in Southeast Asia.
Xiaomi did not do a simple launch event for this series in the different regions. To host conferences in various countries, the company chooses local cultural and artistic attractions, such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Cibeles Palace in Madrid, the Axica Conference Center in Berlin, and the FONDAZIONE ZEFFIRELLI Film Museum in Florence. The launch site for the Xiaomi 12 series in Spain is the Palace of Cibeles.

Xiaomi 12 series price comparison
However, the exotic launch sites for this series are not what caught people’s attention the most. Rather, the conspicuously higher prices did. The price of the Xioami 12 series international version is higher than the Chinese version. The retail price of Xiaomi 12 Pro starts at $999 while the retail price of Xiaomi 12 starts at $749. As for the cheap Xiaomi 12X, the established retail price starts at $649. In China, the starting price of these models is 4,699 yuan ($744), 3,699 yuan ($586), and 2,999 yuan ($471) respectively. A comparison of the prices shows that the Xiaomi 12 series is approximately $200 more expensive outside China.
It is worth mentioning that these conferences were not only broadcast live on Xiaomi’s own platform around the world and actively participated by the media but also many local retailers and e-commerce (such as Unieuro, Euronics) and European mainstream operators (such as Vodafone, Orange, Tim, Wind3), etc., also fully supported it.
According to the German media ComputerBILD…”Xiaomi can compete with the best mobile phones on the market in terms of speed, feel, and screen. It is a real rival of Samsung … with all-around success!”
Spanish media “Pioneer” said: “Obviously, Xiaomi 12 Pro has successfully adopted a more balanced camera system than its main competitors. If we consider that the phone’s chip and GPU computing power are stronger, we have reason to believe that Xiaomi 12 Pro has probably the best imaging system out there.”
Italian media ilsole24ore pointed out that “the three mobile phones of the Xiaomi 12 series use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip to challenge the top of the industry”.
