While the Oppo Reno 8 series does not leave the wraps, Oppo keeps expanding its Oppo Reno 7 series. Today, the Chinese brand is introducing a new Oppo Reno 7 4G in Indonesia. It’s the first model to come only with LTE connectivity. After all, all the Oppo Reno 7 smartphones have 5G connectivity. Oppo probably acknowledges the need for cheaper smartphones with only 4G and is using the Reno series’ name for marketing purposes. Anyway, the Oppo Reno 7 4G is here with the specs sheet that we usually see on 2022 mid-range phone releases.
Oppo Reno 7 4G specifications
The Oppo Reno 7 4G packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. This chipset is Qualcomm’s replacement for the long-disappeared Snapdragon 678. It’s far from being a powerful chipset, however, due to its 6 nm manufacturing it is one of the most efficient chips in the market. This chipset has been present on a multitude of devices including the recently released Redmi Note 11. The phone is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. These two specs aren’t something that we often see among mid-range smartphones. The phone runs Color OS 12.1 straight out of the box and it brings Android 12. This certainly makes the Oppo Reno 7 4G differ from other devices with this chipset. After all, there is a multitude of Snapdragon 680-powered smartphones that are still coming with Android 11.

The specifications come beneath a gorgeous 6.43-inch AMOLED display. It boasts Full HD+ resolution with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate. There is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top. The device is HDR compatible and boasts the Widevine certification for HD HDR content from some streaming apps. The Oppo Reno 7 4G boasts a top-left punch-hole cutout that serves as a home for the 32 MP selfie snapper. This camera is the Sony IMX709 sensor with an RGBW filter. It’s a powerful camera that is even present among some flagship devices including the Oppo Find X5 Pro.
Powerful camera combo, and fancy finish at the rear
The rear camera department is covered with a triple-camera setup. Unfortunately, only the main camera is relevant with 64 MP resolution. The other two sensors are a 2 MP macro shooter and a 2 MP depth module. The device comes with a LED ring around one of its cameras to help in dark environments. The Oppo Reno 7 draws its powers from a 4,500 mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging.
The handset even brings some fancy features such as IPX4 splash protection, a fiberglass body, and a leather finish. Of course, this finish is only available in the Sunset Orange variant. The Cosmic Black one is simpler. The phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the bottom, and the package includes a USB Cable and other basic stuff.
