iOS 15.4.1 rolling out with fixes for battery issues

iOS 15.4.1

Apple’s iOS 15 version certainly was one of the most problematic updates in Apple’s recent story. We assume that the complicated development environments with remote work have greatly affected iOS 15. At its rollout, the update was plagued with issues and lacked several features that have been announced at the WWDC 2021. However, Apple has always shown its commitment to making its software stable and reliable. Several months have passed, and iOS 15 is much more stable and rich than the initial release. The latest version iOS 15.4 was unleashed a few weeks ago, but it came with certain battery issues. Apple has promptly started to work on a fix, and it is finally arriving through the iOS 15.4.1 update.

Today, the Cupertino brand is rolling out iOS 15.4.1 for iPhone and iPad devices that have been suffering from unexpected battery drain. In addition to that, the company is also rolling out updates for tvOS, watchOS, and macOS users. The update comes with underhood fixes and enhancements as well, but it’s a fairly short patch that mostly focuses on fixing existing bugs. Here is a brief changelog describing the update.

Gizchina News of the week

iOS 15.4.1 update fixes the following bugs:

  • The battery may drain more quickly than expected after updating to iOS/iPadOS 15.4
  • Braille devices may become unresponsive while navigating text or displaying an alert
  • Made for iPhone/iPad hearing devices may lose connection within some third-party apps

iOS 15.4 was the company’s latest major update for the iPhones and iPads through iPadOS 14.5. The update gave iPhone users the ability to unlock their devices while wearing a mask. That feature was really useful amidst the pandemic. Furthermore, the patch brought a new voice for the American Siri which is a nice addition for some users if you’ve gotten bored of Siri’s usual voice. Last but not least, the update also introduced new Emoji.

In addition to iOS 15.4.1, the update is also rolling out other firmware. The Apple TV devices are being contemplated with the tvOS 15.4.1. The supported Apple Watches are also getting watchOS 8.5.1. Meanwhile, the Macs are now eligible for the macOS 12.3.1 update.

Apple will be checking the users’ feedback closely to check if there is any bug that escaped through the beta testing. The update is one more stable to bring all announced iOS 15 features. Recently, the device got approval in Arizona and the Apple Wallet started to show drivers’ digital licenses. More states will get it soon.

The update will reach all eligible iPhones including the iPhone 13 series and the recently unveiled iPhone SE 2022.
