The much-awaited OnePlus 10R smartphone has been officially confirmed to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series chipset under the hood. OnePlus has shared this vital piece of information with 91mobiles. On Monday, April 11, OnePlus India CEO Navnit Nakra told the publication that the company’s upcoming OnePlus R series device will be powered by the Dimensity 8000 series. Furthermore, the publication speculates that the aforesaid flagship device is the OnePlus 10R. Also, the chipset in question is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100. The OnePlus 10R has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time now.
These leaks have shed light on some key details about the purported handset. To recall, the OnePlus 10R renders had popped up on the internet last month. These images suggest that the upcoming handset could be a rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo 3. The Chinese consumer electronics giant is still mum on the exact OnePlus 10R India launch date. However, it will be holding a launch event on April 28. According to a report by GSM Arena, the brand could unveil the OnePlus 10R, OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, and the Nord Buds at the event.

OnePlus 10R To Feature A MediaTek Dimensity 8000 Series Chipset
The word on the street is that the OnePlus 10R will get a 6.7-inch E4 AMOLED display that offers up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, 91mobiles reported last month that the handset will ship with 8GB and 12GB of RAM. Aside from this, the report claims that the phone will come in two storage options including 128GB and 256GB. In other words, the phone could be available in 8GB RAM+128GB storage, and 12GB RAM+256GB storage variants. Under the hood, the 10R is highly likely to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset.
On the downside, it could come without the trademark OnePlus legacy alert-slider. If this speculation proves to be true, the OnePlus 10R will be the first device in the numbered series to drop the legacy feature. However, the phone will reportedly retain the headphone jack. Aside from this, the device could come with stereo speakers and Dolby Audio. In the photography department, the phone could feature a triple rear camera setup. Notably, this camera setup on the back will include a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS.
In addition to that, the rear-mounted camera setup will comprise a 2MP macro camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Upfront, the phone will house a 16MP shooter that can capture crisp selfies and enable video calls. Moreover, the OnePlus 10R will come with the same battery and fast charging capabilities as the Realme GT Neo 3. One variant could pack a 4,500mAh battery with 150W charging support. Another model will probably pack a larger 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W charging. Lastly, the phone could run Android 12 OS with OxygenOS 12 on top.
I like that they are offering so many variants, and these are looking really reasonable as well. Plus Mediatek dimensity8100 chipset is no doubt a player!
