In June last year, Google announced that Google Photos storage will be limited. If you remember, its unlimited storage option ended on June 1. This made many Android and iPhone fans disappointed. Now, there is an option to get it back. But not everything is as simple as you might think.
T-Mobile + Google Photos
For many years, Google has been recommending various companies and individuals who work with huge amounts of photos to choose its service. Regrettably, as said above, everything ended on June 1, 2021. Now, Google is bringing back the opportunity of having unlimited storage on its servers. For this, users should have a special deal with T-Mobile. (So this works for the US users only.)
Earlier today, 9To5Google shared a new Google One subscription option on T-Mobile’s website. However, this is not surprising, as there have been long-term cooperations between Google’s services and T-Mobile. Particularly, users have been able to get access to Google’s various cloud-based products when acquiring T-Mobile plans. For instance, in the past, T-Mobile was exclusively offering a 500GB Google One plan. For T-Mobile customers, it was priced at just $5 monthly.

However, the new T-Mobile plan looks more interesting. Apart from the $5 plan that gives 500GB of storage and a $10 plan giving 2TG of storage, soon, T-Mobile users will be able to get unlimited Google Photos storage for just $15 a month.
In order to understand what Google is offering itself, let’s get acquainted with the Google Photos plans:
What users should know about this is that both T-Mobile and Google are allowing subscribers to save photos in full resolution. This is important because prior to this Google has been only offering “high quality” resolution for its unlimited Google Photos storage service. Thus, with this move, Google is getting back to its original service previously offered with its earlier Pixel phones.
New Plan Will Be Available Soon
Though the T-Mobile’s page shows this plan will be available soon, we know that users will be able to get their hands on it starting April 26.
Note: Google Photos unlimited storage will only be available to the primary account holders.
Well, this is not what Google Photos global users have been waiting for, but it’s better than nothing. We mean it’s a good chance for US users to get unlimited Google storage for their high-res photos. And as this plan doesn’t come our way from Google, there is every reason to think that other carriers might offer something similar as well.
