On April 21, the premiere of OnePlus Ace will take place, which will be the result of the rebranding of Realme GT Neo 3. But there are still a few distinguishing features, in particular, the hardware and software platforms will change. The smartphone should be based on the Dimensity 8000 Max chip, the announcement of which by MediaTek officially did not take place. And the same SoC should be available on the Oppo K10, the release of which will take place on April 24th.
So how will the Dimensity 8000 Max differ from the “regular” Dimensity 8000? Based on the promotional poster published by Oppo, it was not possible to detect any differences. It will still be the same chip, manufactured according to the standards of 5-nanometer technology with the Mali-G610 graphics subsystem, the Imagiq 780 ISP and the fifth-generation APU 580 built-in AI accelerator. There is support for LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Dimensity 8000 Max: Geekbench results of the upcoming chip
Oppo managed to run the Dimensity 8000 Max through Geekbench 5; where the chip scored 927 points in the single-core test, and 3793 in the multi-core test. For comparison, the result of the Dimensity 8100 in the same benchmark was 957 and 3831 points, respectively. It turns out that the difference in performance between the two processors from MediaTek is minimal and the user is unlikely to feel it in practice. And Dimensity 8000 Max outperforms Snapdragon 870 in terms of the power of all cores. Whether there will be the same advantage in terms of graphics is an open question.
Gizchina News of the week
Recently, MediaTek has officially announced the Dimensity 1300 processor, designed for use in high-performance smartphones with 5G support. The product is manufactured using 6nm technology at TSMC.
So, the chip configuration includes eight computing cores in the form of a bundle of Arm Cortex-A78 and Arm Cortex-A55. The first block clock frequency reaches 3.0 GHz, the second is 2.0 GHz.
Also, the composition of the chip includes a graphics accelerator Arm Mali-G77 MC9. The integrated 5G cellular modem supports SA and NSA architectures, and peak download speeds reach 4.7Gbps.
In addition, smartphones based on the new platform can be equipped with LPDDR4x-4266 RAM; with a maximum capacity of 16 GB and fast UFS 3.1 flash drives. You can use displays with a refresh rate of up to 168 Hz; and a resolution of up to 2520 × 1080 pixels.
Implemented wireless Wi-Fi 6 (a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth 5.2, navigation aids GPS L1CA+L5 / BeiDou B1I+ B2a / Glonass L1OF / Galileo E1 + E5a / QZSS L1CA+ L5 / NavIC. The maximum possible resolution of the cameras is 200 megapixels.
