A few weeks ago, iQOO unleashed a new cost-effective beast dubbed iQOO Neo 6. The device brings flagship performance but cuts some corners to achieve an affordable price. Since the device’s release, we have been hearing about a distinct variant with the Snapdragon 778G. Now, there is another version to get the spotlight. This one carries iQOO Neo 6 SE moniker and will bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. This chipset still can deliver a flagship-grade performance. However, it’s aging at this point. After all, the Snapdragon 870 is basically a revamped Snapdragon 865+ with its 7 nm architecture. Today, we have some tidbits about this device to share.
iQOO Neo 6 SE alleged specs
The iQOO Neo 6 SE is touted to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. This chipset is made on a 7 nm manufacturing process and brings 1 x ARM Cortex-A77 core clocked at a whopping 3.2 GHz. There are also 3 x ARM Cortex-A77 cores clocked at up to 2.42 GHz, and 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. This particular chip will come alongside a 6.62-inch OLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution of around 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Furthermore, the panel will bring a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. We also expect a high touch sampling rate to ensure a good gaming experience with fast touch response. The panel will bring a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.
Gizchina News of the week
The iQOO Neo 6 SE will draw its powers from a fairly large 4,700 mAh battery. Interestingly, iQOO will couple this battery with its 80 W fast charging. Those following Oppo, OnePlus, and Vivo are pretty familiar with these standards. Since all these brands are part of the same BBK Electronics Group, and iQOO is Vivo’s sub-brand, then it’s natural to see such technology being shared among all these devices. Unfortunately, the phone won’t bring wireless charging. Worth noting, however, that this is the same battery and charging speed on the vanilla iQOO Neo 6. Apparently, the biggest difference between this and the vanilla will be the chipset. To those unaware, the iQOO Neo 6 brings the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It’s one of the cheapest smartphones on this platform.
Unfortunately, there is still no word on the iQOO Neo 6 release. However, we expect more details to appear soon. iQOO is also preparing another variant of the iQOO Neo 6 for the Indian market. As aforementioned, this one will pack the Snapdragon 778G which is more in line with the mid-range market. It has passed through the Geekbench benchmark and will come with Android 12 OS.
