OnePlus is on a launch spree. Another Nord series phone codenamed OnePlus Meili has reportedly entered private testing in India. On Thursday, April 28, OnePlus launched the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G smartphone for the Indian market. After bringing its most affordable smartphone into the market, the Chinese consumer electronics giant is prepping to unveil a myriad of Nord-series smartphones. In fact, it is currently testing one of these devices that carries the codename, Meili.
Now, despite the lack of an official confirmation, key details about the OnePlus Meili smartphone have surfaced online, courtesy of industry sources. According to MySmartPrice, industry sources have confirmed that the purported Nord-series handset is currently undergoing private testing in India. In other words, the Meili could hit the store shelves in the country in the coming days. Notably, the sources claim that the OnePlus Meili will launch under the Nord series. Regrettably, detail about the upcoming handset’s actual moniker is still scarce.

However, the rumor mill has been churning out some speculations surrounding the OnePlus Meili lately. The smartphone is currently under the testing phase in India and will go official in the country soon. Despite the lack of an official confirmation, the word on the street is that the handset will debut as the OnePlus Nord 3 smartphone. To recall, a report had indicated that the Nord 3 will launch in the global markets in the second quarter of 2022. Previously leaked specs suggest that the Nord 3 will be rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo 3. Notably, OnePlus is currently keeping vital information about the Meili under wraps.

However, if these speculations prove to be true, the much-awaited Nord 2 successor will launch either in June or July of this year. OnePlus has neither confirmed nor denied this speculation. As stated earlier, details about the alleged Nord 3 smartphone are still few and far between. Nevertheless, it is likely to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series chipset under the hood. Noted tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the Nord 3 will come with a Dimensity 8100 chipset. Aside from this, the Nord 3 could sport an AMOLED display that delivers a decent refresh rate of 90Hz.
OnePlus Nord 2T Expected Specs
Also, OnePlus is likely to bring a triple rear camera setup on the Nord 3 as far as optics are concerned. Furthermore, the phone could use a 4500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support to draw its juices. Ahead of unveiling the Nord 3, the Chinese smartphone brand could take the wraps off the Nord 2T. For those who are unaware, the Nord 2T is a slightly upgraded version of the Nord 2. The Nord 2T will have a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC, and sport a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Moreover, the 2T could come with three rear-mounted cameras, including a 50MP main sensor. A robust 4500mAh battery unit will be powering up the entire system. This cell supports 80W fast charging. Lastly, the OnePlus Nord 2T could boot Android 12 OS out of the box.
