Microsoft Xbox made a Scottish plaid Xbox handle to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original Xbox’s launch in Scotland. According to reports, the handle was designed by Microsoft in collaboration with Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers, who designed the plaid for the Scottish national football team, Celtic football club as well as Rangers football club.
Woven by Lochcarron, Scotland’s oldest weaving mill, the Scottish Check Xbox controller uses five colours – RV Green, Viv Green, Apple 13, Black and White – to echo the official Xbox brand colours.
Graeme Boyd, Xbox EMEA Social Media Marketing Manager, adds: “We’re happy to be celebrating the Xbox Anniversary in Scotland in a fun, truly Scottish way.
This handle is the same as other commemorative models and will not sell publicly. However, users can get to win this controller via special events on social media.
Microsoft unveils a translucent gamepad for Xbox’s 20th anniversary
The special Scottish controller is not the first special pad that Xbox is launching. Back in October 2021, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Microsoft launched a translucent Xbox wireless controller. The translucent wireless controller is a fine-tuning of the Xbox Series X/S controller. It features the iconic green paint on the Xbox Watermelon button and around the rear handle. Microsoft painted the internal components silver to make it easier to see through the case.

The handle is priced at $69.99 in the Microsoft Store. In addition, the handle can also unlock a dynamic background for the Xbox Series X/S.
Xbox Series X / S controller will support special customizations – single-click, double-click, and long-press
Different from the previous generation, the Microsoft Xbox Series X / S handle has some significant changes. The obvious change in the adjustments is that there is an additional share button. Furthermore, there are reports that the Xbox Insider program has begun testing a new feature on the Alpha Ring. This feature allows users to customize the function of the button in response to requests from users.
The button supports single-click, double-click, and long-press. Furthermore, each input action can get a different task. In addition to the default sharing functions, players can launch specific applications. This includes control media playback and volume, open the Party or Friends interface, view achievements for the current game, send messages, and more. There are also multiple accessibility options.
If the test goes well, these features will be available to all users in the next few months. In addition, the new version also allows users to modify the opacity of the broadcast bar.
