The curtain of the Wi-Fi 7 era is gradually opening. Today, Qualcomm officially released the world’s most scalable commercial Wi-Fi 7 professional network solution. The Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 platform is also the company’s third-generation Networking Pro series of professional networking platforms. In August 2018, Qualcomm released the first-generation Networking Pro professional networking platform. This includes four sub-series of 400, 600, 800, and 1200, supporting Wi-Fi 6. It also includes up to 8 spatial data streams and a peak speed of 4.1Gbps. Furthermore, this platform can connect up to 1500 users/devices concurrently.
In May 2020, Qualcomm launched the second-generation Networking Pro. This platform includes four sub-series of 1610, 1210, 810, and 610, supporting Wi-Fi 6E. The Wi-Fi 6E is the world’s first to support 16-channel Wi-Fi 6/Wi-Fi 6E data streams (4+ 8+4). It is also the first in the industry to support up to 2000 concurrent users/devices.
Since its inception more than three years ago, Qualcomm’s professional networking platform has obtained more than 275 customer product designs, including Cisco, H3C, NETGEAR, TP-Link, Linksys, Xiaomi and other major brands.
Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 – brings a new dimension
The Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 platform is leading the shift of the industry to Wi-Fi 7. Qualcomm has been a global Wi-Fi leader for more than 20 years. Thus, it is not a surprise that the Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 is already available.
As a new-generation standard, Wi-Fi 7 not only improves transmission speed but also brings many new features. It includes wider channels, more efficient QAM modulation, multiple connections, adaptive connections, and more.
The available spectrum of Wi-Fi 7 increases to 1760MHz, an increase of nearly 100 times relative to the earlier Wi-Fi 3/2/1. The number of wireless channels has also increased from 1 to 3-4. Furthermore, the effective bandwidth hit 320MHz. The system wireless capacity also increases to 33Gbps.
In February this year, Qualcomm released the world’s first and fastest Wi-Fi 7 commercial solution, FastConnect 7800. This is also the industry’s most advanced mobile Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection system.
The new Networking Pro x20 series professional networking platform launched this time covers application scenarios such as enterprise-level wireless APs, home Mesh, carrier gateways, game routers, and 5G FAW gateways.
Gizchina News of the week
This is Qualcomm’s highest-performance wireless networking product line, with powerful network acceleration capabilities, lower CPU usage, and the best scalability in the industry. Whether with a network or home deployment, you can get the most suitable choice.
The Networking Pro x20 series platform has extremely high throughput and excellent deterministic latency. The maximum physical layer (PHY) rate of the system is up to 33Gbps (33,000 gigabits). Also, the wireless physical layer rate of a single channel also increases to 11.5Gbps (1.15 Gbps). Furthermore, the user capacity of a single channel exceeds 500.
The new series comes with four different products as usual:
– 1620:
It supports quad-band 16-channel data stream connections (4+4+4+4). The peak wireless capacity of 33.1Gbps, targets stadiums, large enterprises and top-level home mesh network systems.
– 1220:
It supports a tri-band 12-channel data stream connection (4+4+4) with a peak wireless capacity of 21.6Gbps, targeting enterprise-level, small and medium-sized enterprises, prosumers and top-level home mesh network systems.
– 820:
It supports a quad-band 8-channel data stream connections (2+2+2+2), with a peak wireless capacity of 13.7Gbps, targeting enterprise-level, small and medium-sized businesses, prosumers, and top-tier home mesh network systems.
– 620:
It supports a tri-band 6-channel data stream connection (2+2+2), with a peak wireless capacity of 10.8Gbps, for enterprise-level, small and medium-sized enterprises, gaming applications and home mesh network systems.
The new Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 platform works perfectly with leading Wi-Fi 7 client systems such as Qualcomm FastConnect 7800. Through support for high-frequency multi-connection concurrent technology, it can fully utilize the high-performance 5GHz/6GHz frequency band for optimal throughput and multi-connection Latency performance.
In addition, in order to maximize the use of the 6GHz frequency band in long-distance, outdoor and other conditions, Qualcomm has also launched a one-stop solution “Qualcomm Automatic Frequency Control” (Automated Frequency Control). The Qualcomm Professional Networking Platform and Qualcomm Immersive Home Networking Platform will be commercial after formal regulatory approval.
Qualcomm’s third-generation Networking Pro professional networking platform is now sampling, and related products will be available in the second half of this year.
