Vivo is gearing up to introduce the Vivo S15 and Vivo S15 Pro very soon. The duo of smartphones will reach the Chinese market to succeed the Vivo S12 series very soon. Worth noting that the company has already started the lineup with the release of the Vivo S15e . Worth noting, that the Vivo S15 and S15 Pro have already been certified by Chinese regulatory agencies TENAA and 3C. The devices come with model numbers V2199 and V2203A. The Vivo S15 just got updated at the TENAA listing with the full specifications. Unfortunately, the images are still not available, but we can already wonder what the device will look like based on the Vivo S15e.
Vivo S15 specifications
According to the listing, Vivo is not playing any game with this particular device. The Vivo S15 will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. To those unaware, this 7 nm processor can still offer a flagship performance thanks to 1 x ARM Cortex-A77 cores clocked at up to 3.2 GHz, 3 x ARM Cortex-A77 cores clocked at up to 2.42 GHz, and 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. This platform packs an Adreno 650 GPU that can easily handle all demanding games on the Google Play Store. The processor is fairly better than the Exynos 1080 SoC found within the Vivo S15e. The phone will come with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Internal Storage. We don’t think it will bring a micro SD card slot.
Gizchina News of the week
The Vivo S15 will bring more premium aspects such as an AMOLED screen with a 6.62-inch diagonal. The panel will bring a Full HD+ resolution with around 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Worth noting that the phone will bring a single 16 MP camera sensor. So we’re seeing a downgrade in comparison to the Vivo S12. This device has a dual-camera setup at the front which includes an ultrawide module. For that, the device has the usual eyebrow notch at the top. Since the Vivo S15 has a single 16 MP snapper, we assume it will bring a conventional punch-hole or a waterdrop notch. Moving around to the back, the phone’s main camera department will bring three snappers. There is a primary 64 MP shooter, an 8 MP ultrawide snapper, and a 2 MP depth or macro sensor.
Worth noting that the battery is listed as a 2,290 mAh. This isn’t an iPhone, so we assume that it’s a dual-cell design with a total capacity of 4,580 mAh. Vivo will likely use the 4,600 mAh or 4,700 mAh typical capacity for marketing purposes. The 3C listing also confirms 80 W fast-charging, which has been the new charging standard for BBK Group smartphones.
There is still no word on an exact release date, but we expect it to happen before the end of May. The Vivo S15 series may hit other markets as well, although Vivo may rebrand them to Vivo V-series.
