Honor, the previous sub-brand of Huawei, continues to gain momentum. According to Counterpoint, in the first quarter of this year in China, Honor took 16.9% of the market, coming in fourth place.
Gizchina News of the week
For comparison: a year earlier, Honor occupied only 5.5% of the market. Now even Xiaomi is left behind with its 14.9%, and Huawei’s share has fallen from 15% to 6.2% over the year. Considering that the shares of other major market players have changed uncritically, it is clear that Honor has pulled over most of Huawei’s customers.
Honor also became the only smartphone maker in China to post both quarterly and year-on-year growth. Including thanks to the popularity of the Honor 60 line. In annual terms, Honor showed an incredible growth of 167%, while the Chinese market as a whole fell by 14%.
As for the rest of the companies, Vivo and Oppo lost their shares, but Apple, on the contrary, increased. Realme also showed positive dynamics.
Recently, Honor began accepting pre-orders for the Honor Play 6T Pro smartphone with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, which is now on sale in China. The smartphone costs about $213 and is available in three color options, including titanium silver, midnight black, and rose gold.
The Honor Play 6T Pro is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SOC; as well as a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels; with a refresh rate of 90Hz and an effective screen area of 93.6%.
