While Samsung does not plan to present its new foldable smartphones for several months, we already know everything about the design of the next Galaxy Z Flip 4, the manufacturer’s emblematic flip smartphone.
After unveiling the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 before its time, leaker OnLeaks has now lifted the veil on Samsung’s other foldable smartphone: the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Indeed, OnLeaks has unveiled new renderings which show the next Galaxy Z Flip 4 from all angles, confirming that the device will not be very different from its 2021 predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
It will probably be difficult to differentiate the two Samsung smartphones at first glance, as their design is similar. OnLeaks announces that only the dimensions of the smartphone are slightly different from one model to another. The new model is expected to measure 165.1 x 71.9 x 7.2 mm, compared to 166 x 72.2 x 6.9 mm for its predecessor. Like the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 should therefore be slightly more compact, but a little thicker thanks to a new display. It is also expected that its weight will be slightly reduced.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 design
While the design will be nearly identical, it’s mostly the internal components that are going to be different. From previous leaks, we know that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 should run a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip from Qualcomm; and thus would be more powerful than Samsung’s high-end Galaxy S22 Ultra.

In addition, the smartphone should pack a slightly larger battery this year. The accumulator could reach 3700 mAh, against 3300 mAh for the model of last year. This small increase will probably not allow the smartphone to correct its low autonomy; its biggest flaw, but any improvement is good to take.
Finally, Ross Young had revealed that the external screen could be a little larger; going from 1.9 inches on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 to around 2 inches for this new model. This will likely be one of the only subtle design changes.
This year, renders of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 arrived exceptionally early. As early as February, we got a first look at what the foldable smartphone will look like. However, only its unfolded front face was revealed. Then, we got a 360-degree vision by OnLeaks, revealing in passing all the more or less important changes made by Samsung, while its release is scheduled for August or September of this year.
Thus, the first notable evolution compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is undoubtedly its 6.2-inch screen; which turns into a 7.6-inch screen once unfolded. According to previous rumors, the smartphone will have an OLED panel similar to that found on the Galaxy S22 Ultra . In addition, the selfie sensor should also get some improvements; but no information has reached us on the subject at the moment.
