Since the advent of the coronavirus pandemic, the tablet market has been more lucrative than it has ever been. At the moment, the iPad appears to be the favourite in the global tablet market. Nevertheless, Samsung remains a major player in the industry. Back in 2020, Samsung released the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite which did quite well in the market. Today, the company officially released the successor to this device. In a very quiet manner, the company unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) which is already accepting pre-orders on Amazon Italy.
This 2022 edition is an upgraded version of the previous version and it will commence official sales on May 23. In comparison with the original version, the 2022 model has two major changes. The first major upgrade that you will probably notice is the processor. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) comes with a Snapdragon 720G (8nm) processor. Recall that the previous version uses Samsung’s own Exynos 9611 (10nm) chip.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) – few changes from its predecessor
The second change that you will probably notice is the system. This new tablet comes with Android 12 out of the box. The previous version comes with Android 10. Considering the age gap between the two tablets, this is not entirely a surprise. However, it is important to note that the original Galaxy Tab S6 Lite already has Android 12 and it is eligible to get the new Android 13 system. Unfortunately, Android 13 will be the highest it can get but this new version could go up to Android 15.
Furthermore, the price of the new version is a little more expensive than the original version. This device (4GB + 64GB) model costs €400. This is €20 more than the original model. In addition, there is no mention of either an LTE version or a 128GB version. Nevertheless, this could be because the device is just hitting the public and Samsung could be working on its inventories.
Besides these changes, the rest of the specification of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) is the same as the previous edition. This tablet comes with a 10.4” LCD display which supports a 2,000 x 1,200 pixel resolution. It also comes with an S Pen. In addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, this device also supports a 7,040 mAh battery. There is also a microSD slot to expand the 64GB storage. Furthermore, the tablet comes with a pair of AKG-tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos support and a 3.5mm jack.
