After many leaks and rumors, Vivo is finally ready to introduce the Vivo S15 series in China. The new smartphones set to succeed in the Vivo S12 series are finally coming later this week. As usual, Vivo is teasing the smartphones a few days ahead of their release. Today, the company’s latest teaser comes to confirm the design of the upcoming smartphone. Vivo today shared an “official render teaser image”. It confirms the upcoming Vivo S15 series will come with an aviation-grade aluminum straight edge frame. Furthermore, the tease highlights the smartphone’s design in a blue colorway.
Apart from the color and the aluminum frame, the company also confirms the Vivo S15 series will bring a curved display panel on the front. Of course, we can’t affirm if this “premium design” will be present on both variants. But there is a good chance since the duo is touted to come with the same OLED kind of display. The panel has a 60 degrees curved edge screen, while the corners are also rounder.
Vivo S15 and Vivo S15 Pro alleged specifications
As per previous leaks and TENAA listings, the base Vivo S15 will pack a 6.62-inch OLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution. This panel will likely come with a 90 Hz or 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the performance will be more than adequate thanks to the still-excellent Snapdragon 870 SoC. The phone will come with a 4,580 mAh battery with support for 80 W fast-charging. The base model will also measure 8.54 mm in thickness.
Gizchina News of the week
When it comes to the Vivo S15 Pro, this model will have a smaller 6.56-inch OLED screen with the same Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. This device will be even thinner with a 7.99 mm thickness. The Vivo S-series is always focusing on sleekness and style so it’s not a surprise to see the device’s design focusing on thickness. The Vivo S15 Pro will come with a smaller 4,400 mAh battery with the same 80 W fast-charging. Honestly, we’re wondering what makes this device the higher-end one. The device is also rumored to come with the Snapdragon 870 SoC. So, everything that makes it a “Pro” is inside the camera department. As per the reports, the Vivo S15 Pro has a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization.
As aforementioned, the Vivo S15 series will go official later this week, more precisely on May 19. The lineup will hit the Chinese market, but we may see them reaching global markets pretty soon. However, they may become Vivo V25 series once they reach some markets such as India.
The new smartphones will come in Blue, Gold, and Black colorways. They’re leaving the wide-notch solution behind in favor of a fancier punch-hole. The duo of devices will join the Vivo S15e which packs the Exynos 1080 SoC.
