Realme entered the tablet business back in 2021 with the original Realme Pad. Those who were expecting something big were quite disappointed on seeing a budget tablet with Helio G80 SoC. However, the focus of the product was to be accessible and useful, especially during the periods of homeschooling and homework. Furthermore, we can say that Realme was testing the segment with a modest product first. The results were quite positive, after all, Realme’s sister brands such as Oppo, and Vivo launched their very first tablets this year. Realme already launched a Realme Pad mini that is placed even lower than the conventional Pad. Now, the company seems to be ready for its third tablet – Realme Pad X. This one has an appealing name, and believe me, it’ll be the best of the gang.
Realme Pad X coming soon
First of all, the Realme Pad X has a unique style when compared to other Realme Pads. In fact, it seems to be the most different when we look at the entire tablet segment. According to reports, the slate will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. This processor is the favorite choice for the tablet segment. After all, Oppo and Vivo use this SoC on their respective tablets. Even Xiaomi’s Pad series is using this particular Qualcomm platform. After a few leaks, the company has confirmed that its third tablet will debut on May 26 in China.
Gizchina News of the week
Interestingly, the Realme Pad X is considered a “mid-range” tablet. Well, the Snapdragon 870 SoC certainly has architecture from 2020, but we believe it is still better than the great majority of chips in the market. The device will be launched as Realme Pad X in China. Other markets, will likely be a softly-rebranded Realme Pad 5G. Ahead of the official launch, Realme has already confirmed the tablet’s design with a launch poster. It also confirms the support for a stylus, that is likely to come as Realme Pencil. The tablet will have a Checkered flag style printing all along on the rear. The device will bring a single rear camera with AI capabilities. It will measure just 7.1 mm in thickness and will offer support for SIM cards. There is a front-facing snapper that turns the use on landscape mode convenient.
Realme Pad X alleged specifications
The Realme Pad X will pack a large 11-inch LCD screen with a 2.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will boast the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC with Adreno 650 GPU. Last but not least, the device will pack an 8,360 mAh battery.
Considering the design and specs, Realme seems to have lost the opportunity to call this Realme Pad GT or Realme GT Pad. But that is just my opinion.
