Today, Redmi announced that the LCD screen on the Note 11T Pro+ has obtained the DisplayMate A+ certification. This makes it the industry’s first LCD high refresh screen to obtain the DisplayMate A+ certification. Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, said that there are currently 40 mobile phones that have passed the A+ certification. However, all these smartphones come with OLED screens. Now the Redmi Note 11T Pro+ has become the first A+ certified LCD screen smartphone.
According to Lu Weibing, LCD displays can do absolutely well. However, most manufacturers are unwilling to work hard on LCD and use public version solutions. In order to achieve A+-level display, deep customization is necessary. For the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, Redmi had to use the flagship OLED standard to build the LCD display.
Because of the different screen principles, many OLED technologies cannot be translated to LCD. Furthermore, the industry resources are more inclined toward OLED. Thus, there are no ready-made solutions for many of the features we want.
Lu Weibing emphasized that the Note 11T Pro+ supports 144Hz 7-speed shift, primary colour screen, true colour display, Dolby Vision and a series of flagship display adjustment technologies are all equipped on this LCD. This smartphone will be officially released on May 24.
