Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G has gained the BIS approval ahead of its launch in India. The Reno8 series will debut in China today, May 23. Notably, the Reno8 lineup currently comprises three models. These include the vanilla Oppo Reno8, Reno8 Pro 5G, and the Reno8 Pro+ 5G. Regrettably, details about the Reno8 series launch in India are still scarce. Oppo is still mum on its plan to bring the lineup into the Indian market.

An earlier report suggests that the Oppo Reno8 series will launch in India in June 2022. However, this is mere speculation. Amid the lack of an official confirmation, the Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G has appeared on the Indian BIS website. In other words, the Reno8 Pro 5G has wrapped up the Indian BIS approval stage. Also, this is a major sign that the Reno8 Pro 5G will launch in India soon. This piece of information comes from noted leaker Mukul Sharma.
Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G India Launch Is Around The Corner
Mukul discovered that the Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G has bagged the Indian BIS certification process. In other words, the phone is headed to India. However, it is unclear whether Oppo will launch the entire Reno8 lineup in the country. Regrettably, the BIS listing does not divulge any key details about the Reno8 Pro. Nevertheless, past leaks have shed some light on the Reno8 series specifications. Also, the lineup has been subject to multiple leaks lately.
Expected Specs & Features
The vanilla Reno8 will reportedly feature a plastic frame. Further, it will sport a 6.55-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution. This screen will also deliver a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will pack a MediaTek Dimensity processor. For optics, the phone could house a 50MP main camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Aside from this, it will probably feature a third 2MP sensor on the back. However, the Reno8 Pro 5G and Reno8 Pro+ 5G could come in a metal frame, as per a 91mobiles report.
Moreover, the Pro variants will have a better camera setup and slimmer bezels around the display. The Reno 8 series could come with a 32MP selfie camera. Also, it is likely to have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Some reports suggest that the series will include the Reno8 SE model. This variant will reportedly sport a 6.43-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the screen could offer FHD+ resolution. The phone could get a Dimensity 1300 chipset.
Further, the Reno8 SE is likely to ship with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. Also, it could offer 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage. The phone could run Android 12 OS with ColorOS custom skin on top. Lastly, the SE model could come with a 4,500mAh battery. This cell is likely to support 80W fast charging. Also, it will have a triple rear camera setup.
