Xiaomi India has rearranged its leadership, appointing Alvin Tse as the new General Manager. Xiaomi has announced a major overhaul. Notably, these changes have come before Xiaomi makes its foray into the next growth phase. Manu Kumar Jain has transitioned to a larger role. He is the Xiaomi India head. He was named as the Group Vice President last year. Xiaomi appointed Jain to lead the Indian operation in 2014.
Now, Jain handles International Strategy. This includes PR and International Marketing. Jain is ensuring Xiaomi’s success in India. Anuj Sharma will be Xiaomi India’s CMO. He previously led the POCO India team. Alvin Tse will be the new General Manager of Xiaomi India. Tse is a Xiaomi Global founding team member. Also, he is a founding member of Poco, as per a 91mobiles report. He previously took the role of General Manager of Xiaomi Indonesia.

Tse will work alongside the Xiaomi India leadership team. This collaboration will facilitate Xiaomi India’s next phase of growth. Jain stopped working as MD last year. The Xiaomi leadership team handled India’s operations since his exit. Xiaomi has been facing a significant challenge in India lately. The ED seized 5,551 crores of Xiaomi India in April. The department accused Xiaomi of violating the country’s foreign exchange laws. However, Karnataka High Court put ED’s seizure on hold last month.

The organizational changes in Xiaomi India could ensure seamless growth. Before Tse, COO Muralikrishnan B independently led the India business. Also, Chief Business Officer Raghu Reddy played a vital role in leading India’s business. Likewise, Chief Financial Officer Sameer BS Rao had a key role in India’s business. Now, they will continue to ensure the brand’s success in the country. Notably, Tse has been the driving force behind Xiaomi’s expansion in global markets.
Tse has worked in four of the world’s largest smartphone markets. Also, he has worked across major internet markets. Now, he will be leading the company into its next phase of growth in India. Anuj Sharma will rejoin Xiaomi India as the CMO. He will be spearheading the brand’s marketing strategy. He is a former Country Director of Poco India. To recap, the company became a separate brand in 2020. Sharma was leading the marketing strategy for the brand’s India division.
ED had recently summoned Xiaomi’s former MD, Manu Kumar Jain. Other government agencies had also questioned him over tax fraud charges.
