June is about to reach its end, the curtains are almost closing and we’re back with usual set of important releases. We have to say that this month was not the hottest in terms of smartphone releases. But we still got some interesting new devices in this month. Apparently, June was a transition month for several brands. These brands are preparing to launch a multitude of smartphones in July. In fact, July will be one of the hottest months of 2022.

There are dozen of smartphones coming with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. For that reason, we didn’t see many releases in June, but there are still some notable players. After many rumors and leaks, POCO finally introduced the POCO F4 5G in India and global markets as well as the POCO X4 GT.  The company also launched a new super affordable smartphone dubbed POCO C40 giving users in the low-end segment an opportunity. Samsung also refreshed its Indian Galaxy F-series with the Galaxy F13, and Motorola introduced the Moto G82 in all its glory.

As aforementioned, the rumor mill keeps cycling around the upcoming smartphones with 200 MP cameras. Also, the first smartphones coming with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will appear in July. There are more than 13 devices coming and also there are Dimensity 9000+ smartphones coming soon. July will be a very important month for all of us. After all, we expect the smartphone brands to unleash the very first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 smartphones. Moreover, we may finally see the 200 MP market being opened through the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. July will be certainly an important month, and we expect hot releases. But for now, let’s see the best of June.

As aforementioned, this list below brings some of the best smartphones launched in June 2022. At least in our humble opinion. Maybe, you’ll think I’m missing a smartphone on this list. The devices below are those who stole our attention, created hype and anticipation ahead of their release and etc. There are various options in the flagship segment, as well as some devices that get the spotlight in the mid-range segment. Worth noting that this list is not only composed of the devices that perform better but also brings some good contenders that stole the attention due to their appeal, no matter the segment they’re targeting.

POCO F4 5G

We begin our list with the excellent POCO F4 5G! The smartphone easily figures as one of the best smartphone launches of June 2022. After all, it’s one of the few flagships released in this month, and it does not even bring a 2022 flagship SoC! Despite this, the device is already being touted as a big success for POCO India as it’s breaking records in sales. The device improves over its predecessor in certain aspects and delivers a lot of what POCO Fans are expecting.

The Poco F4 5G sports a gorgeous 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED panel with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. The panel also brings a DCI-P3 gamut, 1300nits brightness, 360Hz sampling, and for the first time on Poco, the F4 offers support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. To complement the screen, the device comes with a dual speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, making it a very capable device for multimedia and entertainment consumption. The device has a Full HD+ resolution with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels.

The flagship killer is back!

Under the hood, the POCO F4 5G will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. This particular chipset has a 7 nm manufacturing process which is quite old at this point. The processor brings a peak clock speed of 3.2 GHz with 1 x ARM Cortex-A77 core, and 3 x ARM Cortex-A77 cores running at 2.42 GHz. There are also four ARM Cortex-A55 cores for power efficiency. There is an Adreno 650 GPU that can easily handle most of the games on the Play Store without much issue.

The processor also comes with Liquidcool 2.0 technology with a cooling system with a 3112 mm sq. vapor chamber and a 7-layer graphite sheets to meet the thermals under check. The device comes in variants with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Storage, 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage, 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage, and 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of Storage. The RAM is LPDDR5 while the Storage standard is UFS 3.1.

As for the cameras, the Poco F4 5G flaunts a triple rear camera setup with a 64 MP (f/1.79) main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization and EIS support. The device comes with an 8 MP(f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2 MP(f/2.4) macro snapper. To the front, the phone is backed by a 20 MP selfie camera.

It draws power from the 4,500mAh battery unit with support for 67W fast charging. The device can fuel up the device to 50% in 11 minutes. As for the design, the Poco smartphone comes with a squared-off design and is 7.7mm thin, and weighs 195 grams. The device is fitted with Corning Gorilla glass protection. Other features include around 10 5G bands, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, Android 12 based on MIUI 13, IP53 rating, and Poco launcher 4.0.

POCO X4 GT / Redmi K50i

We continue our list with the best smartphone launches of June 2022 with the POCO X4 GT. The device was also released in India as Redmi K50i. To put things clearly, the device is a rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro+ which was launched in China. Now, it reaches India as Redmi K50i and is also the POCO X4 GT for global customers. The device is a solid contender in the premium mid-range market, thanks to the excellent Dimensity 8100 SoC that provides a lot of performance. The device also has a gorgeous 144 Hz LCD screen which seems to be one of the best LCD screens ever made, since it got a DisplayMate A+ score.

The POCO X4 GT or Redmi K50i flaunts a 6.6-inch panel with Full HD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. It’s a LCD screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 650 nits brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and 20.5:9 aspect ratio. The display will also support HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision content. The device also has stereo speakers and an IR Blaster for managing your electronics such as TVs and Air Conditioners through the Mi Remote App.

Under the hood, the phone boasts the excellent MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC. This is a 6 nm-based processor with 4 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores with a clock speed of 2.85GHz and 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 core with 2.0 GHz of speed. There is a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU ensuring that the phone will handle all gaming tasks without any hassle. The device also has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of 256 GB of Internal Storage. The RAM is also LPDDR5 and the Storage is UFS 3.1. Unlike other premium mid-range phones, the device lacks a micro SD card slot.

In terms of optics, the POCO X4 GT or Redmi K50i comes with a triple-camera setup. There is a 64 MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, 1/1.72″, 0.8um, and PDAF. There is also an 8MP ultrawide snapper with an f/2.2 aperture and 120 degrees of field of view. The device also has a 2 MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. In the front, it brings a 16 MP selfie snapper at the front that sits inside of a punch-hole cutout.

The device has Wi-Fi 6 and is one of the first devices to come with Bluetooth 5.3 with A2DP, LE. There is also GPS with GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS. There is also NFC, and a USB Type-C port, but the phone drops the 3.5 mm headphone jack. In terms of software, the device runs Android 12 straight out of the box with MIUI 13.

The Samsung Galaxy F13 flaunts a gorgeous 6.6-inch Full HD+ IPS display with 2,400 x 1,080 resolution and also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device also has an 85% screen-to-body ratio. The downside of the smartphone is it has a 60Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the device is powered by an in-house octa-core Exynos 850 processor with a peak clock speed of 2.0GHz. The processor is not the fastest in the industry right now, but the phone is a low-end to the mid-range device. So it’s understandable.  The device comes with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It offers support for Virtual RAM up to an additional 4GB RAM, Samsung calls it RAM Plus. As usual in these devices, you can also expand the amount of storage via a good micro SD card.

In the camera department, the device comes with a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main camera with f/1.8 with PDAF. The secondary shooter is a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture and 123 degrees of view. There is also a 2MP depth snapper. There is an 8MP selfie camera on the front with an f/2.2 aperture.

Furthermore, the phone draws its powers from the 6,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging speed, which is hard to call fast charging. In the software department, the phone runs on Android 12 out of the box with One UI 4.0 on top. In terms of connectivity, it brings a USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0 with A2DP and LE. The device is modest, but considering the launches of June, it figures as one of the most relevant best smartphone launches of June 2022.

Oppo Reno 7A

The Reno 7A offers a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 2400 × 1080 pixel resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 600nits peak brightness. It features DT Star 2 glass protection and supports a 180Hz touch sampling rate.

Powering the latest Reno device is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor and an Adreno 619 GPU. It comes paired with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS2.2 storage. The handset also features a dedicated micro-SD card slot to extend the storage further. The handset boots ColorOS 12, based on Android 11.

The Reno 7A comes equipped with a triple rear camera setup including a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The latest Reno smartphone relies on a 16MP front shooter.

The all-new Reno 7A is backed by a 4500mAh battery unit and 18W fast charging support. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a Type-C charging port. It also features an IPX8 rating that makes it waterproof and dustproof.

The Reno 7A comes in Starry Black and Dream Blue color options and weighs about 175grams. In terms of connectivity, it offers Dual-SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, Glonass, Galileo, and Beidou.

POCO C40

The Poco C40 offers a 6.71-inch HD+ LCD display with a 1650 × 720 pixel resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The front panel comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass layer and accommodates the front selfie shooter inside a dot drop notch.

Powering the Poco C40 is an octa-core JLQ JR510 processor and an integrated Mali G52 GPU. The system on chip brings with it up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of onboard storage. The handset also offers a dedicated micro-SD card slot that accepts up to 1TB card. The Poco C40 boots MIUI 13 for Poco, based on Android 11.

The Poco C40 comes equipped with a dual-rear camera setup and an LED flash. The primary shooter on the device is a 13MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and PDAF support. It gets accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, it features a 5MP front shooter with an f/2.2 aperture.

The Poco C40 is backed by a 6,000mAh battery unit and supports 18W fast charging. However, buyers must note that only a 10W charging adapter will be bundled in the retail box. The handset relies on the Type-C port for charging and data transfers. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Motorola Moto G82

Motorola has been stealing the headlines for months now due to the long-rumored Motorola Frontier. The device, apparently, will launch in July as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a 200 MP camera. While the device does not come, the company keeps us served with new mid-range releases. This month, the brand introduced the Moto G82 and it certainly is one of the best smartphone launches of June 2022. Especially for those looking for a solid mid-range device.

The Moto G82 5G device is equipped with a flagship-grade 6.6-inch 10-bit pOLED display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080, which is Full HD+. It has a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, 91.32% screen-to-body ratio, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and DC dimming. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 695 5G with Adreno 619 GPU and it offers support for 13 5G bands in India. The phone comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone supports microSD cards up to 1TB as well.

Realme GT Neo 3T

Realme is moving forward to launch a new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC-powered flagship dubbed Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition. However, the company kept its fans busy with the Realme GT Neo 3T as an incremental or alternative version for the Neo 3 series. The device, comes in fact, to succeed the Realme GT Neo 2T. It’s certainly one of the best smartphone launches of June 2022.

The Realme GT Neo 3T features a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1300 nits peak brightness and HDR 10+ support.

The phone draws power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which comes with one prime core running at 3.19Ghz, three cores running at 2.42GHz, and four efficiency cores running at 1.8GHz. It comes with Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB RAM, and has up to 256GB of internal storage.

As for the cameras, there is a 64MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, 25mm lens, PDAF, and 0.7um pixel size. There is also an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.3 aperture and 119 FOV, there is also a 2MP macro snapper. There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front.

Huawei Nova Y90

Huawei returns to this list with Huawei Nova Y90. It’s a solid smartphone packed with good specifications, however, you still need to deal with the lack of Google Mobile Services. Anyway, the device has enough specs to be on the list of best smartphone launches for June 2022.

The Huawei Nova Y90 flaunts a 6.7-inch LCD with a Full HD+ resolution of around 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The device brings a 90 Hz refresh rate which is adequate for the mid-range segment. It also has a 270 Hz touch sampling rate which is very good. The device brings a punch hole in the center for a single camera that has an 8 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. Moving around to the back, the phone brings an oval-shaped island that serves as a home for a triple-camera setup. There is a 50 MP f/1.8 camera, a 2 MP macro snapper, and a 2 MP depth-sensing module. Of course, there is a LED helper for darker environments.

The Huawei Nova Y90 draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with support for a 40 W SuperCharge. The company is promising 50 percent charging in just 30 minutes. In terms of software, the device runs EMUI 12. Unfortunately, Huawei didn’t specify which version of Android this is. We assume it’s Android 11, but honestly, this isn’t much of a problem on a Huawei smartphone. The device is totally Google-less and most of the services will come from Huawei itself. The device comes with the Distributed File System through Huawei Computer Manager.

The Huawei Nova Y90 has one version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. Other features include USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 6 support.

Realme Q5X

Realme has yet another device to offer for the low-end range of smartphones. It’s the Realme Q5X that arrives with entry-level specs and 5G connectivity. Despite the lack of “flagship specs” the device is still a solid contender and deserves a place among the best smartphone launches of June 2022.
The Realme Q5x runs Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 and features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 400 nits. Under the hood, the phone has the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, along with 4GB of RAM. This processor is a bit old at this point but is still efficient with a 7 nm manufacturing process. It’s much better than anything on the Helio G-series plus the 5G connectivity. The Realme Q5x comes with a dual-rear camera setup that houses a 13-megapixel primary sensor. The camera setup is also paired with an LED flash. For selfies and video chats, the Realme Q5x features a 5 MP selfie shooter at the front.

The Realme Q5x includes 64 GB of internal onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card through a dedicated slot. The connectivity options on the Realme Q5x include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

HTC Desire 22 Pro

Once again, HTC is back! We’ve said this countless times, but we can’t help since the company disappears and appears all of sudden. The fact is that the brand went from one of the main Android players to just one company fighting against bankruptcy in the mobile business. The company has been focusing on the metaverse and virtual reality, and unlike in previous years decided not to bring a blockchain phone this time around. The company introduced the HTC Desire 22 Pro and it deserves a place in the list of best smartphone launches of June 2022.

The HTC Desire 22 Pro flaunts a 6.6-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2,412 x 1,080 pixels. The device also has a 20:9 aspect ratio and 120 Hz refresh rate. Worth noting that this is an IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole at the center. The cutout serves as a home for a generous 32 MP selfie snapper. Moving around to the back, there is a triple-camera setup with a 64 MP primary, 13 MP ultrawide, and 5 MP depth sensor.
The Desire 22 Pro brings the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor with 2 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores running at up to 2.2 GHz. There are also 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. For graphical tasks, the GPU is an Adreno 619 GPU. The phone has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage and you can expand the storage amount via a micro SD card slot.
The device has Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, and a USB Type C port. The battery is a 4,520 mAh unit with non-impressive 18 W fast charging. It runs Android 12.

Tecno POVA 3

Tecno makes its arrival on this list with the Tecno POVA 3. A device is a decent option for those who want a massive battery and decent performance. It was one of the best smartphone launches of June 2022, especially for Indian customers.

The Tecno Pova 3 features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 2460 x 1080 pixels resolution, and 180Hz touch sampling rate.  Under the hood, the Pova 3 is backed by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 gaming-centric budget SoC with Gaming Engine 2.0. The device will be available in two configurations 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variant. The phone supports up to 5GB of additional Memory Fusion 2.1, which is basically Virtual RAM.

The USP of the device is the mammoth 7,000mAh battery unit, which comes with support for 33W fast charging. In terms of optics, the device comes with a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP main camera and there is an 8MP selfie snapper on the front. The phone runs on HiOS 8.6 based on Android 12. Other features include super Cool technology with graphene film cooling, 10W reverse wired charging support, IPX2 rating, dual speaker setup, and 9.44mm thickness.

Realme C30

We close our list with yet another mid-range smartphone, the Realme C30. The device is another good option for those who can’t pay much for a phone but wants something that gets the job done. The device joins our list of best smartphone launches for June 2022.

The Realme C30 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 88.7% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T612 processor, which is built on a 12nm process. We have seen this SoC on other budget phones like the Realme Narzo 50A Prime and Realme C31. The Realme C30 draws its powers from a huge 5,000mAh battery unit. Realme says that, with this configuration, the battery can last one full day. Unfortunately, the device has a huge drawback. It comes with the super-old micro USB port standard that can only output 10 W charging.

The Realme C30 will be available in two configurations. The base model with 2GB of RAM and offer 32GB of internal storage. There is also a 3GB RAM option, which will offer 32GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the device comes with an 8MP single rear camera and there is a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The handset weighs 182 grams and measures 8.5mm thick.
