Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite Went On Pre-Sale Globally, Starting At $399

Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite

Though the newly-released Xiaomi Mi 12S series is in the spotlight, there are still many regions that haven’t got the Mi 12 lineup models. Thus, the first-tier China-based company is running different strategies for different markets. For instance, today, it released the Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite globally, which is considered to be an upper mid-range smartphone.

Design

This model differs from other handsets in the series. First, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite adopts a flat-edge design. Thus, it is more like the iPhone than other flagships on the market.

On the back, this device has a light-refracting effect. However, we have to say that its appearance is pretty minimalist and industrial.

Customers can choose from three color options – Lite Green, Lite Pink, and Black.

“Weighing in at 173g and 7.29mm1 thin, Xiaomi 12 Lite features a featherweight and ultra-slim design with a sleek flat-edged frame to spice up your fashion-forward lifestyle. Showcasing a fashionable color palette, the device’s refined design stands out in three stunning colors—Lite Green, Lite Pink, and Black, appealing to the unique self-expression in all of us. The back cover is fitted with a unified matte color gradient that even extends towards the frame for premium aesthetics. To further convey a heightened sense of luxury, three metal rings are placed elegantly on the rear cameras for a unique, sleek camera module design.”

Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite Camera

Though this is a mid-ranger, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite is ideal for vloggers. There are three sensors on the rear. They include a 108MP main camera (f/1.88), an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.2), and a 2MP macro sensor (f/2.4). By the way, the front-facing camera has a 32MP resolution.

As for the primary camera, it boasts of various useful features, such as Eye-tracking focus, Motion capture, Night mode, One-click AI cinema, Vlog mode, and Portrait mode.

As said, vloggers and influencers are considered to be the main target of this phone.

“…Additionally, Xiaomi 12 Lite comes packed with a series of impressive imaging features to enrich your posts and videos on social media, including Magic cutout—a professional editor that automatically identifies and outlines people, cats, and dogs for image editing, Vlog mode with 19 templates for creating vlogs in various styles in an instant, and other exciting features such as One-click AI cinema and a range of easy to use cinematic filters.”

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite Display

The screen is big and has a number of parameters that make it stand out among rivals. For instance, the 6.55-inch screen uses the AMOLED material and supports a 120Hz refresh rate as well as an HDR10+. The resolution is 2400 x 1080 pixels and it also comes with up to 68 billion colors with TrueColor. The rest of the screen parameters include a 240Hz touch sampling rate, AdaptiveSync, and Dolby Vision.

Generally, AMOLED has many advantages over LCD. For instance, it provides a better viewing angle and vibrant and gorgeous colors. Due to HDR10+ support, movies will have better contrast and more well-defined bright and dark spots.

We have talked about a high refresh rate so many times that it’s senseless to repeat the same once again.

What’s Inside?

The Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite is packed with the Snapdragon 778G processor. The latter supports 5G network. Also, there are several storage options you can choose from:

  • 6GB+128GB
  • 8GB+128GB
  • 8GB+256GB

By the way, the phone uses UFS 2.2 + LPDDR4X memory for all three models.

Unfortunately, you have no option to expand the storage. Plus, it lacks the headphone jack. But Xiaomi has added the typical infrared sensor. Thus, you can turn your phone into a TV remote control whenever you want.

Under the hood, we can also find a 4,300mAh battery. It supports 67W wired “turbo charging”. Plus, the company has put a corresponding charger in the box. As the official information reads, the phone can reach 50% of power in 13 minutes.

Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite comes with a special feature, namely AdaptiveCharge. With its help, the phone’s battery will remain healthier for longer. The feature works by taking into consideration users’ nighttime charging habits and optimizes “charging strategy throughout the night.”

Finally, our protagonist comes with Android 12 out of the box. Of course, Xiaomi uses its own system – MIUI 13.
