Smartphone makers are in line to release new smartphone contenders with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. For the first time in years, we’re seeing a strong movement from brands to unleash new flagships with Qualcomm’s mid-year flagship refresh. There are a lot of reasons for that and one of them is the improvement that comes with the TSMC-made chipset. It ditches the heating and efficiency problems of Samsung’s chip while also improving performance by 10 percent. We already saw a couple of brands such as Xiaomi, ASUS, and Realme launching new flagships with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Now, a report suggests that Oppo is also preparing new devices with the chipset. However, instead of launching a new lineup, the company will bring new variants of the Oppo Find X5 and an Oppo Find N2.
Oppo Find X5 Pro gets an upgrade
The Oppo Find X5 series arrived earlier this year as the company’s flagship lineup for 2022. The Oppo Find X5 Pro, the higher model, came with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 globally. The domestic version, on the other hand, got the MediaTek Dimensity 9000.

Now, a new fresh report from Digital Chat Station, suggests that there is a new Find X5 coming with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Unfortunately, he does not reveal which phone is getting the update. To recall, there is also a vanilla Find X5 that comes with an older Snapdragon 888. However, we believe that we are getting a new Oppo Find X5 Pro variant, or even an Ultra or Pro+ model.
Find N2 coming soon
According to the leakster, we can also expect a new foldable smartphone with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. For this one, Oppo will likely use another name such as Oppo Find N2. The device is already in development and carries the Dragonfly roadmap.
The original Fold packs the Snapdragon 888, just like the Oppo Find X5. The processor is good but is already obsolete for a flagship at this point. After all, Motorola and Samsung will launch foldable smartphones soon with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Oppo Find N brought significant improvements to the category such as a display with almost no crease, much better than what Samsung had. We are curious to see which improvements the new Oppo Find N2 will bring.
The tipster also reveals that the new ColorOS 13 is coming soon. The company also works on the new Oppo Watch 3 and Band 3. For now, there is no word on the release of any of these devices. Also, there isn’t a launch timeline for the new Oppo Find X5 Pro. However, we can expect Oppo to make a movement in the next few weeks. What are your expectations for a new Oppo Find X5 variant?
