It became known that users of the social network Instagram will soon be able to make purchases from small businesses directly in chats. This is reported by the Reuters news agency, citing a statement from Meta Platforms, the owner of Instagram.
According to available data, users of the Instagram app just write a message to the company, add the appropriate settings if necessary, and place their order in the chat. After placing an order, the user will be able to track it in the chat; as well as ask additional questions to the seller, if necessary. Also, you can pay for the order using the Meta Pay payment system. In which countries the ability to make purchases in Instagram chats will appear first is not specified.
Instagram will let users make direct purchases in conversations.
The new feature is part of Meta‘s broader e-commerce efforts. Back in 2020, the social media giant launched Shops to allow users to shop for different products on Facebook and Instagram. As the Instagram app is so popular around the world; it’s safe to assume that the ability to shop in chats will become a very popular feature.
Gizchina News of the week
In a recent update on Twitter, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri revealed new capabilities coming to Instagram creators with paid subscribers. In the subscribers program, Instagram creators may charge their followers a monthly subscription to access exclusive content on the social media app.
According to Mosseri in the video that was shared on Twitter, users will be able to organize private conversations where they may communicate with followers. A conversation can have up to 30 participants.
Also, direct posting of reels and posts to subscribers is now possible; and these postings will display the subscriber badge as well. Creators who have Subscriber material now have a “Subscriber home” option on their profiles; so that their fans may view exclusives or sign up to become a Subscriber.
Instagram debuted subscriptions in January with capabilities for Live video and Stories that are only visible to paying followers. Additionally, subscribers who respond to posts have a badge next to their name.
