Over the past few years, Google has been developing a lot of technologies through its various subsidiaries. Through its subsidiary, Wing, the company recently released a delivery drone that can deliver goods within 6 miles. However, Google is not stopping there. According to reports, the company recently announced a new technology that allows Bluetooth headsets to be seamlessly switched between two devices. This technology works similar to the switching experience of Apple’s AirPods. According to reports, the technology is an off-shoot of Fast Pair technology. The fast pairing function allows devices to easily find wireless Bluetooth headsets and pair them with Android phones/tablets.

The newly added audio seamless switching technology can automatically switch the audio of different devices according to the audio priority. For example, if the user is watching a video on the tablet, and a phone call comes in, the headset audio will switch to the phone. However, if a notification enters the phone, the headset audio will not toggle.

In addition, the technology also gives the user the ability to manually switch the audio back to the original device with a single tap. Google is rolling out audio seamless switching technology for the Pixel Buds Pro headphones. The company will roll out the technology to Sony and JBL headphones in the next few weeks. Apple AirPods already supports audio seamless switching devices. Users need to log in with the same Apple ID, and AirPods will automatically switch to answering calls on the iPhone when listening to music on the iPad.
