In the last jackpot, the winner which was announced on April 15th went home with a $20 million top prize. Of course, this price is nothing compared to the current jackpot. The winner of the Friday jackpot will have two options to claim their winnings as usual. It is either the winner gets the winnings spread over 30 years or chooses a lump sum payment which is the popular option. However, accepting a lump sum payment means that the winner will get a smaller amount. This Friday Mega Millions winner will claim about $602.5 million.
In January 2021, the third biggest lottery prize from Mega Millions was won. The winner of the lottery got the ticket in Michigan and the state permits anonymous winners. According to reports, four members of a lottery club in Detroit got the ticket. However, their representative, a lawyer, got the price in March 2021.
