In a few days, Samsung will introduce its new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. With the Galaxy S22 FE reportedly canceled, the company will shift its focus to the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Of course, considering how things are, the Korean firm is already developing the 2023 flagships. As a result, the leaks and reports are already popping out. Not long ago, rumors suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+ would pack the same telephoto camera as their predecessors with 10 MP resolution and 3x optical zoom. This will also be the case for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will keep the periscope camera of its predecessor
A new report claims that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will bring a periscope with 10 x magnification and 10 MP resolution. To recall, these are the same specifications as on the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Users won’t see significant improvements in the image quality. However, Samsung may improve the optics and employ a larger sensor. This will certainly enhance the image processing capabilities.
Gizchina News of the week
For now, there is no word on the second telephoto camera. Samsung has been using a 10 MP 3x module for the last two generations. The company is not open to major upgrades, so we’ll likely see the same sensor appearing in the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Perhaps, the only major upgrade with the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be the main camera. The South-Korean firm is likely using its 200 MP camera that will debut soon within the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and Redmi K50S Pro. It will be a major upgrade as the Ultra variants had 108 MP cameras. The new module will likely be the Samsung ISOCELL HP1, 1/22-inch.
Worth noting that it’s still a little soon to set things in stone. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is still months away from a release. So it’s probably a good idea to digest these rumors with a pinch of salt.
