Vivo is gearing up to introduce a new smartphone for the budget segment. The device will be part of the Vivo Y-series that is well-known for its budget-centric approach. Back in the last week, the Vivo Y02s were spotted on the FCC certification website. Now, the device has made its way to the company’s global website. Considering this, we can say that the device’s release is imminent. Given to the low-end approach, we may see a quiet release with the device reaching the stores without much buzz.
Vivo Y02s specifications
Curiously, the listing for the Vivo Y02s has been taken down by Vivo. However, we managed to get some of the device’s specifications. For instance, the Vivo Y02s comes with a 6.51-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a dew-drop notch. Furthermore, it has HD+ resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The device has a flat back panel made out of polycarbonate and flat edges with curved edges. Therefore, it has a “premium look” despite its budget-centric approach.
Gizchina News of the week
Under the hood, the Vivo Y02s fails to impress with the MediaTek Helio P35. This super-old chipset comes alongside 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal storage. For current standards, this isn’t much but you hook up a micro SD card slot to store your files. The device draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery. That’s a trademark of budget phones nowadays, the big batteries. Unfortunately, these don’t tend to come with fast charging in this category. The Vivo Y02s does not bring any kind of fast charging just 10 Watts of charging support.
In terms of optics, the Vivo Y02s packs two circular cutouts. One of them houses the 8 MP primary snapper. The second one houses an LED flash. On the front, the smartphone packs a 5 MP snapper for selfies and video calls. Last but not least, the leak also confirms the phone ships in Fluorite Black and Vibrant Blue.
At the time of this writing, the price and launch date of the Vivo Y02s is still a mystery. We’ll wait for more details to pop out soon. Worth noting that the company is also working on another device for release such as the Vivo V25e and has recently introduced the Vivo Y30 5G.
