The Samsung Galaxy S23 series may still be months away from a release. However, this can’t prevent the leaks and rumors from spreading. The new smartphones should be incremental upgrades, and that also includes the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra which, as usual, should be the most powerful in the lineup. In fact, Samsung is making a major improvement in this device – It will replace the 108 MP camera with one of its 200 MP ISOCELL HP snappers. For now, it’s unclear whether it will be the ISOCELL HP1 which is available in the Motorola X30 Pro, and soon in the Xiaomi 12T Pro, or the newer ISOCELL HP2. However, we already know that despite the hardware change, the camera design will remain intact.

According to the reliable leaksterĀ Ice Universe, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will retain the camera design of its predecessor. The tipster shows an image of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with its dual raindrop camera arrangement. The tipster states that this design is good, and there is no reason for Samsung to change it right now. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra camera’s design brings some advantages such as the almost non-existent camera bump.
The differences between the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra are mostly hardware-based
Worth noting, that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is unique in the S22 series with this design. It helps users to distinguish the Ultra between the vanilla and Plus variants. Anyway, as per the leaks, it will be hard for users to distinguish the S22 Ultra from the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The leakster previously stated that the overall design and dimensions will remain unchanged. The changes will be mostly based on the phone’s hardware part. We expect an all-new display, but the same punch-hole design, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The phone will likely keep the 5,000 mAh battery, but we’re hoping for an improvement in the charging speed. Although, this seems very unlikely to happen. That said, the device will have 45W charging at the bare minimum.
For now, it’s unclear whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the only one with the raindrop design. One thing we know, the vanilla and Plus variants are claiming for a design change since their S21 and S22 generations have basically the same design.
