There has been a lot of speculations, leaks and renders of the these two smart watches within the past few months. Finally, the Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 smart watches have been made official. Now that these watches are officially out, we can confidently talk about design, availability and other specs.
The Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 may of course share a lot in common, but there are notable differences in terms of specs, weight and design. In this article, you will get to know all that needs to be known about these smart watches so you can carefully make your choice.
Differences Between Amazfit GTR 4 And GTS 4
The Amazfit GTR 4 comes fitted with a 1.43″ AMOLED Always On Display which has a circular form factor. It peaks at a resolution of 466 x 466 Pixels with a tempered glass to protect it. The surface area is covered with anti-fingerprint coating with a bezel which is also made of anti-glare aluminum material.
On the other hand, the GTS 4 also comes with an Always On AMOLED Display. It features a bigger rectangular display which measure at 1.75-inches. Despite having a larger display, it still drops down the resolution to 390 x 450 pixels. The display of the GTS 4 is also covered with anti-fingerprint coating and tempered glass. But the bezels lack the anti-glare coating. The GTS 4 currently has support for about 150 watch faces whilst the circular GTR 4 packs even more, over 200 watch faces.
Both screens sit on aluminum alloy frames with the back panel made of sprayed polycarbonate. Nonetheless, they weigh differently. The GTR 4 has a weight of 34 grams while the GTS 4 has a slightly lighter weight of 27 grams.

Different Battery Sizes
The difference in weight is as a result of the difference in battery sizes. The GTR 4 has a battery size of 475mAh while the GTS 4 has a smaller battery size of 300mAh. The difference in battery size results in difference in battery life of course. The GTR 4 can give you up to 14 days of battery life with typical usage. But with the GTS 4, you are getting about 7 days of battery life. Under heavy usage, it drops down to 4 days of battery life.
That is not all though, things get even worse when you turn on the GPS mode. With the GPS mode on, the GTR 4 lasts for about 25 hours while you get 16hrs on the GTS 4. However, both watches are capable of charging to 100% in a matter of 2 hours.
There are differences in the straps sizes as well. The GTR 4 uses a 22mm strap size while the GTS 4 uses a 20mm strap. With the GTR 4, you get a leather strap but that isn’t the case for the GTS 4. The latter comes with two strap options to choose from. You have flouroelastic strap and a nylon strap.
Similarities Between The Amazfit GTR 4 And GTS 4
These two smart watches may have a lot of differences but they also have a lot in common. Now let’s see where they share the same features.
The GTR 4 and the GTS 4 all have the Zepp OS 2.0 running on them. They also run the same health and fitness programs such as Menstrual cycle measurements, blood oxygen measurement, heart rate tracking and sleep tracking. Both watches can also help you manage your stress level with the Stress Level measurement feature.
When it comes to sporting activities, both watches are ready to serve you with over 150 indoor and outdoor activities including swimming. Both watches also have the ability to detect up to 8 workout activities automatically and measure them as well. Talking of auto detection, Amazfit has promised an upcoming update that will even detect falls automatically. So if you accidentally fall during a training session, your watch will detect it and record it as well.
Other notable features both watches can offer includes local music storage, offline voice Assistant, dual band circular-polarized GPS antenna, Bluetooth calling as well as some cool games that you can also play when you feel bored. Amazfit is also working on an update that will allow you import your GPS routes to both watches when navigating.
