Gizchina News of the week
Specs that all the models use
Across the Huawei Mate 50 series, there is the Kunlun glass version. This special glass is “built through a 24-hour, 108-process, 1600-degree smelting process”. In simple terms, this glass is rock-solid. A piece of this panel glass contains hundreds of billions of high-strength nanocrystals. These crystals are resistant to impact and cracking. Furthermore, this new series obtains the industry’s first Swiss SGS five-star drop-resistant certification. This makes the Pro Kulun glass version 10 times more resistant to drops. Apart from the Mate 50E, all other models come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
Furthermore, this Huawei flagship is the world’s first popular smartphone that supports Beidou satellite messages. This means that even if you are in an environment without a network, you can still send messages. A new era of satellite communications is born.
The entire series supports 66W fast charging, 50W wireless charging and 7.5W wireless reverse charging. In addition to supporting 66W wired fast charging, the series supports emergency mode. According to the test results of Huawei’s laboratory, the energy accumulating pump can be activated intelligently under 1% low power. The mobile phone can continue to stand by for 3 hours and offers a 12-hour talk time.
Huawei XMAGE
After years of development, Huawei finally develops its own imaging technology, XMAGE. This technology has four major technical bases including “light, machine, electricity, and computing”. According to Huawei, XMAGE is the future of mobile imaging. It will offer global consumers a unique, extraordinary and beautiful mobile image experience. The Huawei Mate 50 series is also the first model to debut this technology.
Huawei XMAGE includes a sense of realism (natural pictures, what you see is what you get), a sense of moisturization (loyal to light and shade, strengthening the sense of light), a sense of transparency (clear details, distinct layers), and a sense of breath. It also captures colours, perceives light and shade, moves across space, and freezes moments. This series comes with the ultra-optical XMAGE image, and the higher-performance lens module achieves a new height of mobile imaging. Furthermore, it supports a super-light variable main camera, periscope telephoto, and wide-angle macro lens.
Huawei Mate 50 series camera
The Huawei Mate 50 comes with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f / 2.2, super macro shooting). It also uses a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (RYYB, 5x optical zoom, f / 3.4, OIS optical image stabilization, 100x Zoom range: 13mm – 1350mm) and a 50-megapixel ultra-optical variable camera (RYYB, f/1.4-f/4.0, laser focus sensor, 10-channel multispectral sensor).
The Huawei Mate 50 Pro comes with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f / 2.2, super macro shooting). It also uses a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (RYYB, 3.5x optical zoom, f / 3.5, OIS optical image stabilization, 200 Double zoom range: 13mm-2700mm) and a 50-megapixel super-optical variable camera (RYYB, f/1.4-f/4.0, OIS optical image stabilization, proximity light sensor, laser focus sensor, 10-channel multispectral sensor).
The main camera of the entire series supports an f / 1.4 large aperture and a super-sensitive sensor. It can freely adjust the first 10-stop adjustable physical aperture, wide and narrow depth of field. The smart variable aperture makes the sensor easy to shoot. Furthermore, there is a wider range of zoom, a smart super wide-angle imaging system and full link HDR Vivid. This brings a clearer and smoother video shooting experience.
On the front, there is a 13-megapixel primary colour camera that supports intelligent variable ultra-wide angle of 78~100 degrees. The front also hosts a 3D ToF depth camera.
Storage technology
Huawei Mate 50 series is the first to release super space storage compression technology. This technology can save up to 20GB of space. It also supports the super transfer station, which can realize cross-level and cross-application drag and drop. The experience is efficient and there is an intuitive information flow. It also supports the intelligent sensor code scanning function. By double-clicking the back cover, you can also quickly scan the location code, payment code, and bicycle code. With this shortcut, scanning of the code is one step faster.
Software
The Huawei Mate 50 series comes with the HarmonyOS 3.0 system. In addition to the continuation of the simple and personalized desktop style, it brings a new experience of universal cards. It also supports high-degree-of-freedom card stacking combinations and personalized card designs. This allows information to be more efficient and enhances the playability and fun of the desktop. This series also comes with an upgraded pure mode. The non-sensing monitoring feature leaves malicious applications with nowhere to hide.
