Xiaomi’s highly-anticipated 200 MP camera smartphone is coming pretty soon. The device carries similarities with the Redmi K50 Ultra but packs a different main camera. It will come as the second smartphone featuring Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 sensor with 200 MP resolution. The device will hit global markets, unlike the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, with Xiaomi 12T Pro moniker. Of course, it will come alongside a vanilla model – Xiaomi 12T. These two devices had specifications and pricing info revealed today.
Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro specifications
According to the new leak, both Xiaomi 12T variants will have 6.67-inch AMOLED screens. That’s a standard for Xiaomi smartphones nowadays. They will have 2,712 x 1,220, which Xiaomi classifies as a 1.5K resolution – between FHD+ and QHD+. Moreover, both devices will have a 120 Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5. The similarities won’t end here, as both packs the same 5,000 mAh battery. Similarly, they also have the same 120W fast charging. These specs resemble the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Ultra. However, recent reports suggest the newer models will get plastic frames to cut down the costs.
Gizchina News of the week
The differences between the two smartphones are in the camera and performance. The Xiaomi 12T Pro comes with the aforementioned 200 MP camera. The snapper gets a bright f/1.69 aperture with OIS. It’s even brighter than Motorola’s camera which has an f/1.9 aperture. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12T Pro will pack Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with up to 12 GB of LPDRR5 RAM and 256 GB of Storage. The vanilla has a 108 MP camera without OIS. For the two phones, we have the same set of auxiliary shooters – 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP macro camera, and 20 MP selfie sapper.
The Xiaomi 12T will get its powers from a Dimensity 8100 Ultra variant. Unfortunately, it’s unclear what makes the Ultra differ from the vanilla. Perhaps, a few tweaks in the software part, just like OnePlus did with the 8100 MAX. Anyway, the phone has 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of Internal Storage.
Pricing leaks
According to the leaks, the Xiaomi 12T Pro will cost around €850 in Europe, which is €50 less than the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The Xiaomi 12T, on the other hand, will arrive with a €650 price tag. Interestingly, the Xiaomi 12T Pro also costs less than the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. So, the war between the two existing 200 MP camera phones will get intense in the next week.
One more thing?
As per the reports, Xiaomi may also take the opportunity to unveil a new Redmi Tablet. However, digest this with a pinch or two of salt. MIUI 14 may not make an appearance at this event, as its arrival is likely set for Xiaomi 13 series’ unveiling.
