Recently, Apple released the iOS 16.1 beta for the iPhone 14 series. However, users of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models may want to hold on for now. According to reports, after upgrading the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models to the new beta, there was a plethora of issues. Notably is the bug that stops the GPS from working. However, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus did not have the same problem. This means that the issue probably has links with configuration differences between different models.

iPhone 14 Pro Max Features

According to official parameters, both the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models come with dual-frequency GPS support. This can provide more accurate positioning information for the device. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus do not support dual-frequency GPS. From this point of view, this iOS 16.1 Beta may have bugs related to the dual-frequency GPS module, which has led to the embarrassing problem of GPS “strikes” on two models with this module. As of now, there is no official response from Apple regarding the issue. Thus, it is best for users of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max not to upgrade to iOS 16.1 for now.

Android phones are too weak – iPhone 14 series had to use an old chip

This year’s iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus has the same design as the iPhone 13 and almost the same performance. Both models use last year’s A15 chip, while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have upgraded to the A16 chip. Today, a tech blogger, “@mobile phone chip expert”, reveals why the iPhone 14 has two models with old processors. He claims that in addition to the fact that Android phones are too weak, one of Apple’s strategies is to reduce costs. Even with the old chip, the current Android chips are still no match. According to Apple, the competition is still chasing the performance of its three-year-old A13 processor. Apple is far ahead in terms of mobile phone processor performance.
