Realme GT Neo 4 coming with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and more

Realme GT Neo 4

Qualcomm certainly is collecting a lot of good numbers with the release of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Shortly after the release, a lot of brands announced devices featuring the flagship SoC. Apparently, no one was happy with Samsung’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Or perhaps, the brands don’t want to stay behind in the flagship segment. The processor will soon be the core of one more device – the Realme GT Neo 4.

Back in the last year, Realme released the Realme GT Neo and Realme GT Neo 2. Therefore, it’s natural to expect the company to bring two smartphones this year. It already releases one, the Realme GT Neo 3, and now, we’re waiting for the Realme GT Neo 4.

Realme GT Neo 4 alleged specifications

The Realme GT Neo 3 sits in the “cost-effective flagship” range. After all, it brings the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC which has the specs of 2021’s flagship SoC. However, for the Realme GT Neo 4, the company is giving a step ahead in the lineup. The phone will pack the flagship platform Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. That means that it will be more powerful than the Realme GT 2 Pro. However, we assume that there will be some cuts here and there. Therefore, the phone should stay in its usual category.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

The new info comes straight from the popular Digital Chat Station. The leaks say that Realme is moving away from the “mid-range” chipset series. The processor means a massive performance bump in comparison to the Dimensity 8100. The device will also get other good specifications. For instance, the leak claims it will pack a 1.5K display. That’s a new tendency among Chinese companies. It’s the definition for resolutions that are between Full HD+ and QHD+ resolution. We’re probably looking at a 1,220p panel.

The leaks also say that the phone will have a 120 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it will have up to 2160-step PWM – the number of levels for auto brightness. Interestingly, the phone will also come with 100W flash charging. That’s a placement between the 80W and 150W charging available in the GT Neo 3 variants. We assume that many will still see this as a satisfactory amount. Curiously, that’s the same charging coming with the upcoming OnePlus 11 Pro.

Realme GT Neo 4

The Realme GT Neo 4 is reportedly coming soon. It will compete with the Redmi K60 smartphone, which is also rumored to come soon. For now, we need to wait for official info. After all, Realme is keeping a low profile. The device may come as the second Realme flagship with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. With this platform, the company already has the GT2 Master Explorer. Worth noting that the company is also busy with the Realme 10 series. The next in line for its mid-range family.

Realme GT Neo3 specs recap

Let’s quickly recap some of the Realme GT Neo3 specs. After all, how we will know that the GT Neo 4 is a worthy upgrade if we don’t know its predecessor? The Realme GT Neo 3 comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has a centered punch-hole unlike the vast majority of Realme phones. Under the hood, we have the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Storage.

The phone has a triple-camera array. The main camera has 50MP resolution and OIS. The secondary and tertiary shooters are 8 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro snappers. Selfies come from a 16 MP camera.

The Realme GT Neo 3 has stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, and an under-screen fingerprint scanner. The device sells in two distinct versions. One has a 4,500 mAh battery with 150 W charging. The other has a bigger 5,000 mAh battery with 80W charging. With the upcoming Realme GT Neo 4, the company wants to offer something in the between.
