After much speculation, and as expected, Intel has finally introduced the new 13th generation of its GPUs. The Intel Raptor Lake series brings three new CPU models with significant upgrades. According to the company, the Intel Raptor Lake series brings up to 15% better performance on Single-Thread and up to 41% better performance on multi-threaded. Is it enough to dethrone AMD in the desktop CPU market?
13th Generation Intel Raptor Lake CPUs details and specs
The 13th gen Intel Raptor Lake CPU series brings the new Intel Core i9-13900K at the top of the latter. There is also an iGPU-less variant, the 13900KF. The CPU keeps the hybrid architecture of the 12th gen. There are 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores for a total of 32 threads. It has 32 MB of L2 cache and 36 MB of Intel Smart Cache (L3). The P-cores can boost up to a whopping 5.8 GHz and the E-cores up to 4.3 GHz. The CPU has a base power of 125W and a max turbo power of 253W. The price recommended for the 13900K is $589. While the 13900KF will cost around $564.
According to reports, under very specific conditions, this CPU can be overclocked to 8 GHz.
Intel Core i7
Next in the Intel Raptor Lake series, we have the Intel Core i7-13700K. It boasts 8 P-cores and 8 E-cores, threads are set at 24. The CPU has a 24 MB L2 cache and a 30 MB L3 cache. It can boost up to 5.4 GHz on the P-cores and 4.2 GHz on the E-cores. It has a base power of 125W and a max Turbo power of 253W. The 13700K has an RCP of $409 while the 13700KF is $384.

Core i5
Finally, the Intel Raptor Lake series bring the i5 series to the baseline. The Intel Core i5-13600K comes with 6 P-cores and 8 E-Cores for 20 threads. It has 20 MB of L2 cache and 24 MB of L3 cache. The P-cores boost up to 5.1 GHz and the E-cores up to 3.9 GHz. It comes with a base power of 125W and a max Turbo power of 181W. The RCP of the 13600K is $319 and the 13600KF is $294. This is the “mid-tier” offering in the Intel Raptor Lake series.
The six Intel Raptor Lake models feature 20 CPU PCIe lanes (up to 16 PCIe 5.0 + PCIe 4.0). They also support DDR5 5600 and DDR4 3200 memory. The models with integrated GPU will have the Intel UHD Graphics 770 handling the graphical tasks. Obviously, you can pair them with external graphics cards.
The 13th gen Intel Raptor Lake processors will work on the new Z790 chipset motherboards, and also with the previous 600-series motherboards. However, the new processors and motherboards will actually hit the market on October 20. So you’ll have to wait a little bit to get one of these. Also, as we’ve said, these above prices are the company’s recommended prices. The actual prices will vary by region and store.
The future is definitive with the Intel Core series. After all, the company is retiring its Pentium and Celeron brands. Therefore, time will tell if the Intel Raptor Lake series will bring something more entry-level-oriented.
