Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE emerges on Geekbench

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE

Back in the last year, Samsung expanded the “FE” range to tablets. After the succesful Galaxy S20 FE, the company decided to launch the Galaxy Tab S7 FE tablet. The Galaxy S21 FE was quite a pointless release given to the multiple delays. We assume that the weak performance made Samsung give up on a possible Samsung Galaxy S22 FE. However, it’s not giving up on the tablet segment. Apparently, Samsung already works on a Galaxy Tab S8 FE. The tablet may be close to release as it has just passed by the Geekbench benchmark.

Samsung Galaxy S8 FE appears on Geekbench with MediaTek Kompanio 900T SoC

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE passed by the benchmark database with the SM-X506 model number. Interestingly, the product packs the MT8791V/TZA SoC. In fact, this model stands for the Kompanio 900T. It’s one MediaTek chipset developed exclusively for the tablet segment. It’s an 8-core processor with two cores running at 2.6 GHz. Moreover, there are six cores running at 2.0 GHz. In terms of software, the tablet runs Android 13. That’s interesting, after all, it indicates that the device will launch with One UI 5.1 straight out of the box.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE packs 4 GB of RAM, however, we assume this is just the basic variant. In terms of score, the tablet scores 773 points in the Single-core tasks. The Multi-Core department gets a higher 2,318 score. According to GalaxyClub, the SM-X506B is the 5G model. However, there is also another model with the SM-X500 codename. This one might be the Wi-Fi-only version.

There are some doubts about the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE. After all, as we’ve said before, Samsung canceled the Galaxy S22 FE. For that reason, it’s unclear whether the company will launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE. The chances are high, after all, the device is going through benchmark testing. We expect to hear more about it in the upcoming months.

Worth noting, that One UI 5.0 will have its official rollout in the next month. So, we don’t expect the Galaxy Tab S8 FE to appear with One UI 5.0 before the actual stable release for the Galaxy S22 series. The company is also preparing a new rugged Activ tablet.

It’s a bit curious about the Galaxy Tab S8 FE on Geekbench. After all, the original S8 was banned from the platform for manipulating results.
