As per the recent leaks, Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce the Xiaomi 12T series. The new smartphones will join the Xiaomi 12 series, which already brings the vanilla phones and the S phones. Today, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun took to Twitter to confirm one of the most appealing details of the Xiaomi 12T series – It will bring a 200 MP main camera sensor.
According to the leaks, we already know that the Xiaomi 12T series will arrive on October 4. As per the leaks, the 200 MP camera sensor belongs to the 12T Pro. The vanilla Xiaomi 12T will have a “simpler” 108 MP main camera. As per the leaks, the camera inside of the Xiaomi 12T Pro is Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1. That is the same snapper that comes with the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. Xiaomi will effectively become the second smartphone maker to launch a phone with this camera.

As per the leaks, the Xiaomi 12T Pro 200 MP camera is a 1/1.22″ image sensor with an f/1.69 aperture. Moreover, it brings Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). To those unaware, the snapper brings 16-in-1 pixel binning. Therefore, it can produce 12.5 MP photos with crispy details. Moreover, it also supports 4-in-1 pixel binning for 50 MP shots. Obviously, you can capture 200 MP shots if you want to.
As we’ve mentioned before, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra brings the same sensor. The camera is great for both dark and light environments. It’s the major highlight in the Xiaomi 12T Pro, and perhaps, the only one in the camera department. According to rumors, the phone will bring basic ultrawide and macro sensors. So don’t expect advanced zooming capabilities. The other specs include a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with the fancy 1.5K resolution. This “1.5K” is a new trend among Chinese brands for panels with 2,770 x 1,220 resolution. It sits between Full HD+ and 2K resolution.
Other rumored specifications include a 5,000 mAh battery with the latest 120W charging standard. Under the hood, the phone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 256 GB of Storage. When it comes to the vanilla Xiaomi 12T. It will bring the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC.
