In 2021, EA announced that the new Need for Speed game will be delayed by a year. This is because developer Criterion Games was transferred to support the development of “Battlefield 2042”. Also, EA said in February 2020 that it had handed over the development of Need for Speed to Criterion Games. The company also plans to reorganize Ghost Games. Recall that Ghost Games is responsible for the latest work in the “Need for Speed” series in 2019’s “Need for Speed: Heat”.
