Tecno and Infinix keep their race to become relevant global brands. While Infinix bets on impressive specs, Tecno is also trying to cater to users through the design. Today, the company has presented a new version of its Tecno Spark 9 Pro. This new variant boasts “Sport Edition” and comes with a special design. Why is so special in the design? Well, the fancy look is the fruit of a partnership with Designworks. To those unaware, that is the design innovation studio for the BMW group.
Designworks was behind the materials, colors, and finish for the Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition. The design takes inspiration from the “icy crystal talisman”. The design is full of crystal references, and there is also an allusion to the BMW logo. However, that’s not a clear copy, just an interesting inspiration. The diamond-like visuals at the back resemble some old Oppo phones from the past.
According to the company, the Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition aims at a young audience. The young ones also have a good taste for luxury looking, and also a “crush” on automobile products. You can check Designwork’s description of the new design:
Gizchina News of the week
“Working together with a company like Tecno is inspiring, as it gives us the opportunity to focus on another user experience – the phone. While there is a difference in scale, something phones and cars have in common is that they are extremely personal and are relied on daily by their users, and they are also a means of personal expression,” said Andre De Salis, Creative Director, Industrial Design at Designworks.”
Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sport Edition specs
The design of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition is certainly the strong point of the phone. After all, the specs are not really impressive. Of course, that’s the standard package you get when looking for a budget 4G phone nowadays. The phone has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it carries the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC with up to 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. That chipset is really old at this point, and we assume it’s the phone’s Achilles heels. Anyway, if you’re not a demanding user, it will serve you well.
The device has a micro SD card slot and a 3.5 mm jack. There is a 50 MP main camera and two auxiliary (or decorative, you decide) 2 MP shooters. The dot notch at the front serves as a home for the 32 MP selfie snapper.
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro draws power from a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging. The phone runs Android 12 with Tecno’s skin on top.
