Huawei Mate 50 Pro is not a 5G smartphone – pushes HarmonyOS 3.0.0.156 update

A few days ago, Huawei pushed the HarmonyOS 3.0.0.156 update to Mate 50 Pro users. Huawei claims that this update adds the ability to unlock the device while wearing a mask. However, it also supports using the mobile phone for payment while wearing a mask. At present, Huawei Mate 50 Pro users can choose whether to turn on mask recognition in the face recognition settings.

Face recognition is most accurate when the face is not occluded. When Mate 50 Pro users turn on “mask recognition”, the device will be authenticated by eye features, and they need to look at the screen for recognition. In addition, Huawei Mate 50 Pro “mask recognition” also supports face unlock while wearing glasses or makeup. The Huawei Mate 50 series is the company’s latest flagship series. With a phone case, this device becomes a 5G smartphone.
